60th & Hartman Construction

Anybody know what's being built up there at 60th & Hartman - near Sorensen Parkway?  Looks to be pretty huge, as in NOT some houses.

Apartment complex?

That would actually make a lot of sense.  The interchange on 680 is already there.

I suppose what's holding them back is that little issue of a couple hundred million dollars...  :)

I drove through Florence today.  The renovations are looking nice. Yep, they're coming along nicely (I hit up the Florence Zesto recently). The one major obstacle for Florence, is that they HAVE TO get the heavy truck traffic diverted off North 30th Street.  There is nothing cool about sitting on a...

yawn. I'm glad they're throwing money and pretty sidewalks at us and all, but Florence is beyond |expletive| and I don't see it helping. I thought you loved Florence? I do, but I recognize its faults and know that a pretty little rehab won't help it and it will never become dundee or benson because...

didn't this all happen already about two years ago and absolutely nothing happened? I remember hearing something a couple years ago.  If I remember right, the rumor was that Buckey's was going to build a big C-Store. That area SHOULD be good for some sort of development, being right across the str...

It's been doing that for a while now. It will shake out somehow or another. Advertising revenue will drop as online viewers drop.  The World Herald better figure things out.  You can charge an extra $50 per month for advertising IF you have an increasing viewer base.  But if that base is declini...

I really like the exposed ornamental lintels.  I think it's a great way to blend a historic feature into a modern building. Yep, this is really great.  After DECADES of ignoring the beauty of the old historic buildings, "Omaha" seems to be making great strides in embracing and perpetuati...

They've been predicting the demise of the paper newspaper for years. Obviously more people including me consume news online nowadays, but I don't see the newspaper completely going away. Exactly.  NewsPAPER is now an inaccurate name.  NewsSOURCE would probably be a little better.  But it's the s...

This makes the OWH purchase make a little more sense.   Far be it from me to question Warren B's investment wisdom, but I would think that in this day and age, traditional print news media would be an incredibly poor choice! Unless, of course, the price was a Could Not Refuse type of thing. Today's...

I drove past 72nd & Blondo early this morning.  I'm not sure what is going to be built, but they are definitely at work building something.  A lot of surveying & staking, and there are concrete forms ready to be set up.

It's good to see.

First of all, if Stargazer's husband is in the military, there's about a 90% chance they live in Bellevue rather than Omaha.  I wouldn't like living in Bellevue very much either. Second, regarding the woman who is being "forced" to testify against a man who she accused of raping her?  What...

Right.  But now that Lucky Bucket is getting going, it might be a good time to snatch up a downtown, or North Downtown location, and give it a whirl.  :)

Thank you for the quick response, but as far as I was aware, I am in the city limits of Omaha, therefore the area that I live in shouldn't need to be annexed.  From what I understand from the definition of the word annex, it is to add to or improve upon.  To "add" us to Omaha is to say th...

Pizza Ranch on 84th & Center?

Couldn't find it it "search" so I'll just post it.  Mods, merge this if need be.

Is the Pizza Ranch near 84th & Center open yet?  If it's open, is it good?  I've been to several Pizza Ranches in Iowa, and love their buffet.  If this location is open, is the restaurant good?
