Re: Downtown Soccer Stadium

They are making the announcement at Omaha City Hall, with the mayor, I doubt that they are doing that only to announce a Gretna development location.

Re: Mutual of Omaha Plans for the Future?

I posted earlier that I heard they planned to demo both towers, I meant the HQ building on the North side of Farnum. It has always looked like 2 buildings to me. Supposedly the buildings on the South side of Farnum will stay. They are opting for a series of 6 story buildings on the footprint where t...

I am hearing a similar rumor. Demolishing both towers and the dome for a "campus" of 6 story buildings.

Re: It’s that time of year again- 2017 Metro population estimates coming officially on 3/22/18

Once again, let's say you only know 100 people in Omaha, think coworkers, former coworkers, wife's coworkers, friends, family, church, kids friends, neighbors, etc, etc, . If you know 6 people that commute between Omaha and Lincoln then only 6% of the people you know commute. Let's say you know 200 p...

Re: It’s that time of year again- 2017 Metro population estimates coming officially on 3/22/18

I would have to disagree, how many people do you personally know in Omaha, hundreds?, if you have lived here your whole life it may be many more than that. How many people do you know that commute? I know hundreds of Omahans and I only personally know of a couple that commute one way or the other. O...

Re: 1416 Dodge - Lanoha Highrise

It's a valid question, my take on it is that there have been so many large rehab projects that have taken up demand. The wire, slate, bank, atlas, corvina, the nines, breakers, plus 15 that I cant remember off the top of my head. Also keep in mind the apartment building in the captial district is no...

Novak, going back to your original post. I have not been to Michigan very much, but I have no doubt that you are correct. I am going to take a stab at explaining why there is such a difference in attitudes between the states. Michigan is a large state and one of the most populous in the nation and a...

Re: 1416 Dodge - Lanoha Highrise

There is already a tunnel under the UP building on the north side that stretches from the North side of the building to that parking garage that they use just north of the Hollard Center. I don't think it would take too much to connect a future Lanoha building to the UP building under the street.

I heard through the grapevine that they closed shortly after there was a shooting near the lounge, decided it was no longer worth it. Re: Pacific Life HQ @ Aksarben Village

Actually I dont think the surface lot is going to be turned into a garage. If you look at the space to the South of the Theater, there are two parts, one to the east (where I assume the building will go) and one to the west (where the garage will go) and an unfinished road in between. I think the un...

Re: Crossroads - Redevelopment Plan

Anyone want to lay odds on the Crossroads bond succeeding? If it's executed with the same bookkeeping as the Qwest/Centurylink, I'd say it would not succeed.   It's making record revenue, yet its debt is not being paid off in record numbers.  Yet their management makes how much in bonuses? I could ...
