Actually, with the tall lobby on the ground floor, it looks like 11 stories. I wish they would put these up against Dodge as the original plans called for. I guess along with the 150 block view, they'd have to contend with the expressway noise.

He said it would be a great place for Ameritrade to build... not that he thinks Ameritrade will build there. Regardless of what you think of the company, most of us would rather see them relocate into town somewhere, rather than out in the sticks... however likely or unlikely that may be.

You know, when the story of a hotel at this corner first broke, they said 120 rooms. The more I look at this... it looks like Embassy Suites. I wonder if this isn't going to be closer to 200+ rooms.

Yeah, initially, I believe the plan was to shoe horn a condo building into that parking space along 12th. Not the case with the Residence Inn. 1202 is the parking lot... 1210 is the American Machine Works building (which I won't mind seeing go)... which I assume includes the parking area on it's opp...

Something which struck me this morning (so to speak) when driving by the Shoppes on Giles property... there are some pretty substantial high voltage wires running across the property... the botton wire hangs pretty low. I would think this would present some issues for the project... maybe not.
