As exciting as this project is, I find myself rolling my eyes at the prospect of another Younkers or VonMaur, although it probably isn't realistic, it would be nice to get a department store anchor that is unique to the area, like Macy's. Macy's isn't what it used to be, but it would be a fresh face...

I have to agree that I don't think Lincoln should be included in Omaha's population....that's almost misleading.....especially since there is such a long stretch of open farmland between the two cities, it's not like there's an urban sprawl that stretches from one to the other....it gets very rural ...

I think I've read on here that 5 million is the magic number for new terminal/renovation/expansion, right??

I noticed that the 2000 census population for Omaha was around 390,000, and the 2003 estimate was at 404,000, so that's 14,000 in 3 years....at that pace is it safe to say that by 2010 the city population will be around 430,000?? Yes...in I believe 2003 Phoenix passed Phillie to become the 5th largest city...also in the same year, Mesa (suburb of Phx) passed up Atlanta in population. Maricopa County is still the fastest or second fastest growing county in the US..... A recent study says by 2020 we will have gained another 2....

I think this look becomes very dated looking very fast....similar to the designs of the late 50's and early 60's....I doubt these will ever look 'classic'....and they're really not that original....that look was around in the early 60's. My opinion of course....
