Why does Mahogany look like a Verizon store? I look at it every time I go to Onyx. It looks like a strip mall over there.

I live two blocks north from these. The house at the end of my block sold for $925k two years ago and a house just down the street from that one also sold for $925k last year. Prices in that neighborhood have soared. $400k is going to get you a house that will need money to bring up to the standards...

The sticker is a small square about 2x2”. It’s clear with dark blue printing so it’s almost invisible unless you’re looking for it. You’d have to be standing next to the car to see it. My understanding is the dealer here (Onyx) never attaches a front plate holder before asking the customer.

Regarding front plates. It costs $50 to not have a front plate. They give you a sticker that goes inside your windshield on the drivers side. I just bought a really nice car and the salesman asked if I wanted the front plate holder installed or if I wanted to pay not to have one. I had no idea it wa...

That OWH video of Crossroads through the years was so bad. One picture they have reversed (the outdoor strip mall shot) and the supposed shopping for mad sale with cheap radios in 1966, was actually 1980 and the closing of the downtown Brandeis Store. The clothes, hairstyles, and especially the glas...

Funny you mention Cheddar's. My first ever visit to a Cheddar's was when they opened in San Angelo TX and we went there for my going away party in 1995. San Angelo is the also the only place I've eaten at an On The Border (it was in the mall). The authentic argument is just people being snobby. I gr...

I moved to Omaha in 2005. It was my first time coming to the Midwest. I love it here. We have paid off our house and plan to live here until we are no more. I'm an Omahan by choice, which can't be said by a lot of people born and raised here.

I'm on board with moving the main library, demoing the building, and putting up something that will enhance the new Gene Leahy. As much as we clamor for improving our skyline, this is our chance and is sounds like they have something lined up which is why they are moving quick to make it happen. Thi...

I've been tipping minimum 20% for years. Since the pandemic, we've been tipping on average 25-30%. I work in an industry with tipped employees. But, on a more serious note, do love that building. So happy it's not being torn down for a generic new build. Anyone know if tenants are secured? Hopefully something good since I drive by on my daily commute.
