Re: 1200 Landmark Center

I thought after WWII when there was enough prosperity for everyone that people could actually afford to buy a home was the impetus for the suburbs to be born. I live in Dundee. I'm always amazed at the people that live in Omaha that think we must be rich to live here. There are all price points. My ...

Ha! I asked my chef about Grey Plume after reading the thread here and he went right to the source. I'm always trying to tell people this is place to find out about European Villages being built in west O. Glad to help put this rumor to rest.

Re: Pepperjax Grill - Omaha/CB Metro Area

I think someone just wanted to live in Denver. The headline is incredibly insulting to Omaha. I don't know how other businesses survive here (including those Fortune 500 headquartered in Omaha). We obviously are just a bunch of dumb hicks that can't run Pepperjax, that crazy impressive fast casual r...

I grew up in Los Angeles and have lived all over the country and the world. We moved to Omaha 12 years ago. I love it here. I'd prefer we not become a hot new place to live. That brings a lot of stuff I don't want. Just look at Nashville. My husband considers Nashville his hometown and I've been vis...

Re: REAL ESTATE MARKET: Omaha

I live in Dundee. Most houses under $300K sell quick and if you're under $225 I think they mostly are gone within a day and multiple offers. Over $400K and they tend to sit a little while. The one across the street from me was put on the market for $635K and they dropped the price to $600K within a ...

I'm paying less than $100/year. I will not pay full price. Our current car uses XM and it has the worst reception. When we had it in our car with Sirius we didn't have the dead spots like XM. XM obviously got the |expletive| satellites.

I have some new dead spots over in CB around Sapp Bros. It started a few months ago. I renegotiate in April and I'm going to insist that they add the streaming service to my subscription at no additional cost. I don't consider "cleaner downtown" a positive for Des Moines. I did not like the vibe at all. It felt too sanitized and disney-fied. I like a little grunge with my urban center.

We went to the new Best Buy on Thursday. They had a million employees working. The store was mostly complete. Not sure if the few empty display spots is due to the larger size and not having the inventory from the other store? It felt huge in there.

A lot of people in my neighborhood (Dundee) still bag leaves. We compost our leaves in the backyard, but a lot of our neighbors have nice lawns they don't want to clutter with mulched leaves. I still put out bags with branches and the junk I clean out of the flower beds.

I'll have to disagree on the comparison of the MAC and Ralston. The MAC made a huge turnaround after Caesars took over management and stopped hemorrhaging the city's money. Now with the addition of the Field House and Marriott it's only going to get better. As far as the Arena goes I just haven't s...

I think HDR and OPA both arrogantly thought this would happen without either of them having to get dirty.
