Construction starting this week. After several projects being delayed or abandoned this is great news. Lincoln is certainly not one that quickly builds.

Re: 20 Story Tower Proposed for 12th & Q
I think this one has a lot better chance of happening soon compared to the other "ideas" of development (i.e. 9th and O and 9th and P streets). It may be on the city council's agenda tomorrow, 1/14, and the linked article also seems to think there's a push to get it started this spring. LJ...

I'd really enjoy a discussion about a few Omaha folk who have said, basically, every year ought to be played in Omaha between the two teams. Personally, I'm struggling to understand it. A comment I read said Lincoln PBA would only get "50-100 Creighton fans" whereas the CHI would get a 50-...

Now, having said that, I find this whole Runza thing silly...read the comments on the Daily Nebraskan site. Riots! Boycotts! Dogs & cats living together! Mass Hysteria! Completely agree. Ever since Runza quit rewarding the fans for 65 points (Rrrrrrrrrrrrunza!) at the MBB games I boycotted Runz...

Lincoln restaurants
It's fairly obvious that the Lincoln restaurant scene (for the most part) is lacking, especially compared to so many wonderful Omaha area ones. Why is that? My wife and I thoroughly enjoy finding the small, quant restaurants in Omaha and I have often taken co-workers to some of those while in Omaha ...

Funny how similar it looks to all the recent new additions to Omaha's zoo. Granted, I think Henry Doorly is a great zoo to model after. There's really no comparison between the Omaha Zoo and the Lincoln Zoo. I don't understand the recent OWH article that seemed to indicate there's some kind of comp...

I'm not a big fan of skywalks as they take away from pedestrian sidewalk traffic. I would be good with Lincoln stop planning these. I tend to agree. Yeah, okay, I'll admit it's not that big a deal. 3 or 4 years ago, I probably would've made a big deal about it, but not today. I've had good luck flying out of Lincoln with a recent trip to California being excellent, other than the small-sized plane to Denver. It's such a short jaunt it didn't matter. Really interesting reading the timeline for interviewing Coach Riley in the OWH. A recently announced plan for another old Haymarket building at 8th and O Street. It should be a great fit when it's all done. For those who aren't familiar this one sits just south of the Harris overpass on 8th Street...directly south of Bin 105's location.

The street signs here in Lincoln on main streets are somewhat odd. The street sign on the top (for the cross street) is bigger than the one on the bottom, the sign for the main street. They've been like this since the mid-to-late 90's. Anyone else find it strange? Personally, it makes sense to me...
