The lights really jazz things up, but during the course of play I would rather see them off. During the first few Creighton games last year the advertisements ran while play was occurring. This shortly stopped. I think it can be distracting to the players. Rosenblatt has the same policy for the anim...

I am not looking at a casino as a savior, just trying to make the most of a bad situation. Be realistic, a casino near downtown is inevitable. As far as Elkorn, hopefully it will be annexed. But it will only happen when it is financially responsible. Maybe the merger will be instilled before future ...

Doubtful Omaha will annex anything in the near future. A few months ago a world-herald article stated that Omaha will not annex Linden Estates. A SID with expensive homes and cars seems logical to annex, but our city has too much debt the way it is. The Hilton, Convention Center/Arena, and the river...

Maybe Omaha should be worried about getting more gyms instead of a cheesecake factory. I would love to see a nice gym go in downtown. As part of the Venetian business model, they include a Canyon Ranch Spa. The one in Vegas is ridiculously nice. Conventioners could see a show, eat at nice restaraunt...

When I was there, I was curious about the capacity. So I asked one of the ushers how much seating the place had. She told me 1,206 seats.

Inside the Joslyn is a hall that holds roughly 1,200. Conner Oberst played there last year. I forget the name of it.

greenbuilder and jhuston, I agree with you in these neighborhoods are bland with little character. I wonder what they are going to look like in 50 years. At the same token they are affordable and people seem to be buying them. I know there has to be a balance between what we are seeing in the pictur...

Gateway Closes Omaha Retail Store

Statistically it probably is. But it sounds sketchy to group the larger city into the smaller cities metro. I wonder if people from Iowa City boast about Council Bluffs being their first largest metro area.

Berkshire Hathaway Shareholder Meeting

The weather should be nice, people should be |expletive| the streets of downtown. I might go out of my way not to avoid downtown. It should be an exciting atmosphere. We are now starting to get a little hustle and bustle of a booming downtown.

I have just recently become a member of this "eomaha" list and find the pictures and the discussion fascinating. I wish our riverfront would become enhanced with more shops and restaurants, but it seems Rick's, the Parks service, the bridge, riverfront place, and gallup have taken up all t...
