For what it's worth, I usually view urban congestion as an indicator/symptom of both regional prosperity and downtown vitality...I don't think that in the end, it's something to fear in any American metropolitan area outside of NYC and LA. The cities with "bad" downtown congestion smaller ...

the need for a beltway isn't "inevitable" if we focus further development in the city.  By the time the city is reasonably filled up and we need to go farther out, trains will hopefully be more of a norm of transit than they are now and we'll be looking to build rail service. Beltways can...

At least when I talk about Omaha on the KC site it's in an Omaha sub-forum. Of course Omaha doesn't need a record label to define it's city. (Does KC really need all that jazz |expletive| to define it's city? heck that hasn't been popular since the 20's. Get with the times KC. When the heck was the...

i personally wish the best for omaha, and it is kc's closest relative. positive things that happen in omaha (streetcars, for one) will only help us out and give us more leverage to get things done down here, and i believe that it works same way for omaha as well. not to mention, we get a lot of awes...

"You know what, KC really honestly isn't that much more better in any way than Omaha. Like I said in a previous post, Omaha will be equal to KC in the next few years. If you haven't been to Omaha you don't know what you're talking about. For a long time Omaha was bigger than KC. You guys are wa...

the chiefs arent going downtown in the forseeable future. no one is even suggesting they move them. that would sabatoge any progress on the royals. besides, the tailgating culture wouldnt allow for that. baseball, on the other hand, is a more urban sport. a baseball stadium just belongs in a downtow...

well, i can't say something like "omaha also has a lot of good scenes BESIDES the SC clique" because i don't know. i certainly do ASSUME that, however. though, SC is perceved as being extremely dominating (for better or worse) over Omahas collective music scene. that is my perspective, rig...

After seeing how little Lincoln is in a position to help us, I'm going to take a firm stance against light rail between Omaha and Lincoln. If there's going to be light rail looked at, it should be for the city of Omaha with a strong presence in the eastern part of the city. momentum for light rail ...

It's like I said in another thread, it seams like coastal cities can be honest with themselves about these kinds of things and admit that Omaha does in deed have a better music scene, whereas KC has to |expletive| itself, belittle Omaha, and try to convince itself that they are somehow better than ...

That article is rife with jealousy. Probably due to the fact that KC's music scene is terrible! :P eeeeeeeeeeasy! kc's music scene is in fact healthy, and if you lump lawrence in there, which you really have to due to the proximity (omaha and lincoln constantly get lumped togther, and they ar...
