Re: Omaha Local News Channels

Does anyone listen to the afternoon radio on KFAB with Emery Songer as host? He has been on for a while now. For years, I have listed at least twice a week to the afternoon guy for a while on those days. At first, I chalked it up to having to get used to the "new guy." Don't think that is...

My Dad and stepdad in SW IA with a combined 70+ years of subscribing to the OWH have both dropped their 7 day subscriptions. When I was in Shenandoah in SW Iowa this Summer at my Mom and stepdad's, it was after 11am when the paper hit their doorstep. I replied with why are you still wasting your mon...

Re: 101.9 is changing formats....AGAIN

Thanks for posting.  I still wish that 96.1 The Brew would come back, but I do like country.  Maybe they can play more music than Kat 103.7.  They seem to have commercials on everytime I tune in. No problem, The Brew rocked. Country might work if management commits to a strong LOCAL presence. The W...

101.9 is changing formats....AGAIN

Man this frequency has been cursed the day they dumped legendary rocker KFMQ and jumped on the country bandwagon of the early 90's 20+ years ago. From classic rock to country to alternative back to classic rock to lite rock to adult hits and now back to country. http://radioinsight.com/blog/headline...

I wonder if 590 has given up trying to do a local daily talk show. Greg According to the D-Bag Matty P they have hired a afternoon host from Iowa who is a Iowa homer. Seems like 590 is really trying to be Iowa fans station in Eastern Iowa and Omaha. What's funny is that the person 590 has hired isn...

Or will 590 drop Iowa sports and just run ESPN programming 24x7 on autopilot.  I'm not sure what the heck Journal Broadcasting is doing with that frequency, other than squander it.  They dropped the Royals and Chiefs, now they've lost Creighton.  They've apparently given up on local talk. The previ...

This has to be a |expletive| joke. Unsportsmanlike Conduct is now unnecessary roughness with Matt Siegel and Houston Alexander? The running joke for the last 1 - 2 weeks has been they are going of the air with the changes on Feb 1.  This is just the attempt at the final punch line. Yeah - got punk'...

Wow, good for Malvern. I grew up in Red Oak and when I do get that way, the growth that has occured in Glenwood is unreal.

From Malvern & Glenwood, you're closer to downtown Omaha than you are coming from the westside, so it's no wonder why word is getting out about these bedroom towns.
