Likely because of interstate signage standards. Omaha is the control city as the main focus of WB traffic on that section vs a more specific destination of "downtown" that isn't technically a destination on either I80 or I29.

Well, the only NHL franchise that was prime for relocation, the Arizona Coyotes, are heading to Salt Lake City. Not that NHL in NE had a great chance but in my mind this would be the nail in the proverbial coffin.
