Re: METRO (Formerly Metro Area Transit - MAT)
Having travelled in ORBT several times, I believe that ridership numbers are somehow underrepresented. Most of the times I took the bus, most of the people didn´t bother to pay for the ride, specially if the hop in but one or the back doors.

Do you see anything strange? Howard street has been recently resurfaced, but in one block there is front diagonal parking and, in the next block, it is reverse diagonal parking. Has the city stopped implementing reverse parking or is just bad planning? https://i.postimg.cc/Fk5ss42R/IMG-20231007-1024...

I have an honest question:
why there are so many homeless/drug addicts in the intersection of 24th and Leavenworth?
I am unable to see what attracts them there.

My quick take is that this is another boondoggle, almost as ridiculous as the proposal to build a 50k stadium for the Nighthawks. There's already a 6,000 seat soccer stadium downtown. Partner with Creighton to add suites on the east side, additional seating on the ends, and BOOM. With LED boards, t...

16th street is between Douglas and Harney is simply tragic. The streetscape is fine in front of OPPD & the Orpheum. I wish they would have made this the standard for the rest of the street (Parallel parking vs the back-in parking). A cleaner more cohesive design would have been much better. The...

Having car, rail, pedestrian, and bike infrastructure all on one street is precisely what complete streets policies strive for. Again, there's nothing wrong with overlapping. It's about providing options so people have choices that can fulfill their needs. https://i.postimg.cc/ftz7dSJH/amsterdam-tr...

Being realistic, Omaha won’t become a cyclist city because of its hills on top of its weather, but, for god’s sake, at least develop a minimum of infrastructure so people that use bikes for commuting purposes feel safe. Are four lanes for traffic in Haney or Farnam really so necessary? One protected...

Yeah, I tend to distrust traffic engineers. Not because of anything to do with them, but because their goals IMO are often counter to actual good city designs.
