Re: Official: Gene Leahy Mall
Finally, I have to laugh at the whiner calling people who post on an Omaha Development/Booster site “Homers”, lol.. Umm Hello, I’d say most all of us here are “Homers” for Omaha..and that does not mean we all blindly agree with everything going on in our metropolitan area as “good” “needed” or “the...

Is there any way we can do a master list of plans for the GLM, HoA Park, and Riverfront Landing in a separate topic, or could we do what we did for the Capitol District and put the plans on the first page of their respective threads so they're easier to find?

Are undocumented residents included in the apportionment population counts? Yes, all people (citizens and noncitizens) with a usual residence in the 50 states are included in the resident population for the census, which means they are all included in the apportionment counts. https://www.census.gov...

There are apartments on either side of it, why wouldn't it fit? Or do you mean what their prices will run? The prices. I'd have nothing to say if they built the same type of apartment that is already there, that the type of people who have lived there for forever could afford. But the proposal for ...

Living in Boston, almost every aspect in the cost of living is substantially higher than Omaha. But as an RN with three years of experience, I am making $14,000 per year more than I was at home. I'm still coming out ahead.

The allegations in that lawsuit are ugly. Once you get to the "poured significant quantities of hydrogen peroxide into cranial cavity" of a seven month old to control bleeding during surgery, well, theres no backsies on scar tissue. And for what its worth, that apparently made news in Bost...

It's hard to believe there hasn't been more discussion about the wisdom of abandoning the existing DCYC at 42nd St. It just opened around 1999 after spending 10s of millions of dollars to build it! Remodeling it to work with the newer detention methods makes much more sense. It seems like they're o...

NuStyle is kind of a crapshoot for design. Sometimes their projects look nice, like The Breakers and Atlas. Sometimes they're a little meh like Highline 2.0 and Slate. I think it's too early to tell with this discolored rendering how it'll turn out. The black and white scheme is kind of getting old...

Downtown Omaha is teetering on the brink of being a total food desert, with no relief in sight for years (if a downtown Hy-Vee that we all hope for even comes to fruition). Would Nebraska have the labor pool to staff a 1-2,000 employee car factory? Given the easy drive from Illinois and the economic collapse building there, I could see a big "No Problem!" line of UHauls heading west on I80. Given the situation with Cabela's, I'm sure it'd be a godsend for Si...
