Re: KC Downtown Baseball
Could we get this development, sans the pro baseball stadium at Lots B and A, and throw in Lot D for good luck, downtown? Good for KC though and thanks for sharing! Storm Chasers should be playing in TD Ameritrade resulting in 4,000 plus fans coming downtown each game. Lots B and A would definitely...

Re: Nebraska Football 2022
I dont really think there is a slam dunk out there per se. There's definitely solid coaches out there. I just have flashbacks of Bill Callahan when I think of the other coaches being talked about. He wasnt very good, and he had no Nebraska soul. I feel like that's how they will all turn out. Except...

Re: Annexation 2020
Would love to generate some activism on these annexations that continue to promote sprawl and promulgate the dispersed development of Omaha. These annexations should be rebuffed. A halt would accelerate the developments in neighborhoods, including downtown.

MECA, hence the large hotel requirement. The City owns the recently expanded Hilton next door and is having challenges servicing the debt.

Re: Official: Shamrock Development (10th and Capitol)
The city should give them a deadline and if not met than issue another RFP. The site is under MECA's control, not the City of Omaha. They were given the right to develop the land for 10 years when MECA allowed the City to build the baseball stadium on one of their precious parking lots. MECA has do...

CBD is also required zoning to be eligible for TIF financing. This could be an indicator for a TIF application to the City of Omaha for redevelopment.

Re: Official: Shamrock Development (10th and Capitol)
Seeing that image demonstrates how nonsensical it is to build a new hotel right next to one that is already connected to C-Link, is struggling with occupancy and debt payments and could be expanded even more with a tower where the parking deck is located. An expansion with a tower could be flagged w...

Hey everyone, new to the forum but not new to real estate development in Omaha. I'm sure the EB-15 has something to do with the timeline... The EB-5 financing definitely has something to do with the timeline. This is a time intensive form of financing and is not something that has been used in Oma...

Re: Official: Shamrock Development (10th and Capitol)
Can't overlook MECA's culpability. Does demanding a new, separate hotel when the attached hotel struggles year after year make sense? I can see both sides of the argument. Why not expand the current, attached Hilton with a tower on the parking deck (or it’s location) with their higher-level brand? E...

Re: Official: Shamrock Development (10th and Capitol)
Here's one of the fundamental reasons why this project is delayed. Way to go MECA, you missed a fantastic opportunity. From today's World Herald: "Since Werner Park opened in 2011, more than 1.3 million have seen two PCL championship teams, including the 2013 Triple-A national champs, and three...

What MECA has done with their properties surrounding the Century Link Center is an embarrassment for the City of Omaha.
