Re: The Development of Regency, Old Mill, and Miracle Hills

A lot of memories from these areas. When I was a kid, you could rent a Sunfish sailboat at the Regency lake... I guess liability keeps them off today perhaps. Remember Rusty Scupper? Sound of Peacocks 'meowing' from the Renstrom farm. Sneaking through the golf course into the Golden Spike. I got my ...

Again, I don't doubt they go over 3,000 during the 'nice' months... maybe even a few weekdays. But to attain these numbers, they need to see over 3,000 -every- day of the year (and let's face it, during the summer, the pool is the -main- attraction). There are accommodations on site which would allo...

Re: 2016 Most Popular Nebraska Attractions

I find these state park numbers a little hard to believe. Mahoney State Park for example... that's over 3,000 a day, 365 days per year. Come on, do they have counters on the women's bathroom door perhaps? I'd bet during this time of year, they see no more than a couple hundred on a given day, which ...

If you check the locations of other Stage retail stores, you'll notice they're virtually all in small/medium sized markets. It's as if they closed the Omaha stores just to stay with that strategy.

I haven't been to AMC in years. Marcus Majestic is so much better in terms of comfort/amenities than what I remember from AMC (which I'm hearing here hasn't changed)... and Alamo has cornered the coolness factor as theaters go. I feel like Oakview is doomed to fail, it's such a bad location... at th...

This data center will employ little more than 100 network/hardware admins in the end.

Once upon a time, a facility this size would employ several thousand (with a high school education).

Spending this kind of money for a very small segment of downtown is just an ignorant idea that wold appeal to only those that live in the immediate area. Even if EVERY one of them rode it religiously, how many years of ridership would you need to recoup the yearly maintenance cost, let alone the as...

I actually liked the place a lot, was disappointed to see it fail. A different spin on the Brazilian steak house. A buffet with a gaucho chef serving a few meat selections. They charged by the pound. I thought the food was very good.

Re: Lumberyard District (Downtown Millard)

I'm pretty sure there's a lot of section 8 people in those apartments north of L Street Marketplace off 132nd, yet the market for the surrounding real estate looks just as tight as it is anywhere else in Omaha. Bearing in mind, 'old town' Millard isn't exactly the most desirable area to begin with.

Natural attrition will ultimately leave today's progressives in power by default. It's the way of things. Enjoy a last gasp of conservatism for the time being. No offense 'grandpa', but you'll be dead soon enough (note that wasn't necessarily directed at you, Smucker, just your people :) ).

14,000 show up for Omaha Women's March

I would guess this was one of the largest marches of this kind to take place in Omaha. World Herald reported that it spanned some 14 blocks. We walked down Capitol to 13th, south to the Old Market, down Howard... it was quite a sight. https://img2.brain4.photobox.com/00144170022d12c65ef61e704e72a9b4...

It's not just Wisconsin beating LSU (we'll forget about MSU, they're the Big 10's Oregon)... it's giving both Michigan and OSU all they could handle.
