Re: Official: Omaha Streetcar Discussion

Unless they figure out some way to limit voting on it, to those in the vicinity of the line itself, as was done in KC... it will never come to fruition. Ask every voter in the city of Omaha to approve it... it fails.

These bonds have allowed some developers to get rich at the expense of the workers in society who never really benefit from the development. Either the projects are for poor people and the workers don't qualify because they have more than three digits of net assets. Or, they are for the hipsters wh...

Capitol District has already consumed one surface lot. It's hard to compare Haymarket (more like Old Market) to this area surrounding a CenturyLink complex with arose from a rail yard. It really isn't a bad evolution. Establish your anchor convention center/arena, served by surface lots. As the surr...

The property on which the former Westroads club was located (where these businesses you refer to can be found) would not be included. No existing businesses are going to be subject to this tax. Again, object to the tax, don't patronize the business. It really is that simple. By the way, be sure to a...

The only initial business 'in the district' will be TopGolf itself. Anyone notice they seem to respond when they get behind, and then go back in cruise control if they get a lead. I don't think Tanner Lee is the problem, and I don't think he's the worst QB we've had (though he does tend to force throws into coverage/miss check downs, but not nearly as bad as Tommy)....

Stapleton is of course a new urbanist development. Omaha is way behind on the new urbanist movement... even Lincoln has Village Gardens.

Of course, this is entirely different from tiny homes, although such a setting would probably improve their appeal.
