Re: The Duo (222 S 15 ST) formerly Central Park Plaza
Yeah, this is pretty meh for a conference. Obviously not a bad thing to add 700 apartments, but I was really hoping for something big at 1416 Dodge. It always seems odd to me to convert an office building to apartments, but then again so is a hospital. But it is relatively cheap. Absolutely a win. ...

If it goes residential will they still build that project on the east side to connect the buildings upper floors?

Having lived in DTLA and DT Long Beach, I would like to see us at least get something like this Vons in DTLB. It was a full size grocery store but had a parking garage on top of the store. https://i.postimg.cc/NLWfjnwT/Screenshot-20231103-093617-Maps.jpg https://i.postimg.cc/cvWxQ8CL/Screenshot-2023...

Most of the area and parking lots are surrounded by chain link fences. It's in one or two of the photos. I was here a few weeks ago and everything was locked up. Only one parking lot was available to the public.

Detroit: Quick Roverwalk Loop
I was in Detroit for the 2nd time in a week for work. I had a short amount of time to walk around Detroit's Riverwalk, which just recently opened. There wasn't a whole lot to it. Think our own Riverfront back in the days of Rick"s being the sole destination. https://i.postimg.cc/kD2qyWp4/202310...

I see a certain someone is running for city council in the 3rd district... I did. Despite having a felony trial, the day before the election, I far exceeded the local political "experts" expectations. I was told by people in the Democrat party that I would have to spend at least $10,000 t...

I think they are just willing to pay a third party to find a viable developer, so we don't run into that same situation. What exactly they do, not sure. Probably more diligence than the city did with Townsend, though. Why pay a third party to do the city's job? This is just a way for someone else t...

who cares if they are religious (I for one am not really) - but if they are re-doing the building to make it more appealing and thus, bringing more positive vibe to the area... what's wrong with that idea? I bet the those who have bought a condo at Jlofts may not be happy with an 11 or 12 story structure. Those with a view to the East probably didn't expect that.
