Re: Hy-Vee (144th and Stony Brook Blvd)

What is being built/remodeled at the North end of this plaza North of the UHaul Storage Facility? There are Hy-Vee construction signs on the building and Hy-Vee construction trailer and trucks out front. Is the store relocating? Is this the old Hy-Vee location that Hy-Vee still owns? Are they remode...

Hy-Vee’s current plan is to mostly only build mega stores like this one in Gretna. That is why the canceled a couple planned stores in Minnesota. They are expanding to Indianapolis, Memphis, Nashville and planning for stores in Kentucky and Alabama as well. They plan to just build 4 or 5 megastores ...

Re: A pedestrian Old Market

Maybe I am just used to the OM as it is but I don't think the traffic or the parking hurt the feel of the OM. The activity is part of what makes it fill vibrant. What would improve the feel of the Old Market is: 1) improve the sidewalks in the whole area to make much of the area less of an obstacle ...

Blue Sushi - Old Market, Shops of Legacy, Aksarben Village

Blue will be taking over the Jobbers Canyon location in the Old Market and opening a location in the Shops of Legacy.  Perhaps this should go in the rumor section but it looks like they may be moving into Aksarben village as well.

"Teen Spirit" is definitely the song of Gen X.  I don't think it is possible to overstate the importance of that song.  Hair Metal was huge in the late 80's and early 90's and this single song ended an entire genre of music. I think the other defining musical event of Generation X was the ...

It will be interesting to see if they rent out data center space to other companies.  If you build all the infrastructure for a data center it usually makes sense to try and recoup some of the cost by renting out rack space.  Perhaps Google has so much money that they aren't worried about it.

I hope we don't lose all of these places.  One would think that with less competition from the other traditional steak houses one of these places could emerge as a popular Omaha institution.  I would hate to see all of the Omaha-style Italian Steak Houses disappear forever.
