It's been a while and I believe it was MAT behind the promotion to shop at the Crossroads and Westroads-they encouraged you to park and shop at the Crossroads then take the 2 to the Westroads shop and take the 2 back to your car.  It was wonderful especially traveling from North Omaha.  I hated dr...

I went-not a big tennis fan but I mainly went to see Serena.  Very entertaining night.  Nice crowd.  The people sitting at the ends of the court got clocked consistently by 120-140+ mph aces (the UNO Dancers seem to get hit more than anyone else at their end) Roddick had two at 150 mph.  The Gov...

I was referring to North O when I used to visit in the mid to late 60's, and early 70's when I moved here.  You could walk around North O and not fear for your life then.  Des Moines was different, Blacks lived on the West and East sides of the city, we weren't concentrated in one area like Omaha....

This area didn't look like that when I lived there in the 60's.  What really surprised me was the denseness of trees on each street.  They really cleaned up the home front.  My last home there got a revamp.

Skeet's used to be the place for ribs in North Omaha, it's on N 24th St across from Bryant Center.  Ribs were meaty on white bread loaded with sauce.  I never tried the hot sauce on them-I like their smoky sweet regular sauce.  Used to have to stand in line on the weekends after going to the bar ...

It sure would've been nice if they had possibly considered turning Park Fair into a Target, T J Maxx or Mashall's instead of making it a parking ramp.  Using existing buildings they can bring additional retail back downtown.  If they can't get the condo units built in the Brandeis building put som...

The bus system could a whole lot better than it is, but it can still get you in and out of downtown to get what you need.  The 2 has the most frequent runs and will take you to Crossroads and Westroads.  The 15/55 will get you to Oakview and Millard.  Those of you that are not fearful of North Om...

If you worked at Mutual in the early 70's/80's you learned how to parallel park from fear of being late.  Used to take 5 years to qualify for the parking lot, and many times you would have to park near St Joe's if you didn't leave home early enough.
