It's been a while and I believe it was MAT behind the promotion to shop at the Crossroads and Westroads-they encouraged you to park and shop at the Crossroads then take the 2 to the Westroads shop and take the 2 back to your car. Â It was wonderful especially traveling from North Omaha. Â I hated dr...

I went-not a big tennis fan but I mainly went to see Serena. Â Very entertaining night. Â Nice crowd. Â The people sitting at the ends of the court got clocked consistently by 120-140+ mph aces (the UNO Dancers seem to get hit more than anyone else at their end) Roddick had two at 150 mph. Â The Gov...

I was referring to North O when I used to visit in the mid to late 60's, and early 70's when I moved here. Â You could walk around North O and not fear for your life then. Â Des Moines was different, Blacks lived on the West and East sides of the city, we weren't concentrated in one area like Omaha....

Thanks, these were kind of a rush thing, I was there for a few hours. Â Can't wait to go back and check out more, I understand there is a tour of the renovated homes in this area. Â I was just really surprised to see that they have revitalized an area that really wasn't bad back in the day, it was o...

My old neighborhood in Des Moines has done the same thing with the old houses (not quite that minty). Just got back from Patrick's about a half hour ago. Â Like Big E says the prices are what you would expect. Â The prices ran higher for a lot of my staples and some weren't there. Â If they saw you searching they would ask if you were finding what you're looking for. Â I think it was the father, he ...

Midtown Crossing Development and ECI Investment Advisors Inc are located in our building, or about to be. Â They moved the model to our lobby and had another party yesterday evening. I'd still be on WPS' dime, 6th and 7th floor are considered WPS. Â Coming in or leaving after hours we have a special WPS access card to scan to get into the building. Skeet's used to be the place for ribs in North Omaha, it's on N 24th St across from Bryant Center. Â Ribs were meaty on white bread loaded with sauce. Â I never tried the hot sauce on them-I like their smoky sweet regular sauce. Â Used to have to stand in line on the weekends after going to the bar ...

Thanks, there's a huge red crane at the garage site. Â I ran down during the first half of the Dallas game to take pictures. I wasn't impressed with Gate's ribs either. Â Had always heard so much about them and was disappointed when I finally tasted them. Â Truth be told at that time I thought Skeet's was better than Gate's. Â My all time favorite was Frank's in Waterloo (East), IA. Â This is where I first had rib tips t...

Jim's Rib Haven has reopened. Â Before I moved downtown that's where I always bought rib tips, now I get them at Famous Dave's. Â The Smoke-Pit can be great or OK. Â Sunday I got the chicken and the breast portion was dry (sauce was good but didn't alleviate the dryness). Â I've also had some sauce ...

It sure would've been nice if they had possibly considered turning Park Fair into a Target, T J Maxx or Mashall's instead of making it a parking ramp. Â Using existing buildings they can bring additional retail back downtown. Â If they can't get the condo units built in the Brandeis building put som...

The bus system could a whole lot better than it is, but it can still get you in and out of downtown to get what you need. Â The 2 has the most frequent runs and will take you to Crossroads and Westroads. Â The 15/55 will get you to Oakview and Millard. Â Those of you that are not fearful of North Om...
