Re: I-80 signs on the iowa side
How could I have missed that? You are right Des Moines not only points to Council Bluffs but also Omaha in one sign. You would think that KC would do the same and point to both St Joseph and Council Bluffs but there are probably other reasons. Like the other posters mentioned, I'm assuming it is a ...

Re: Omaha Eppley Airfield
MCI aka "KC Airport" also did the same in installing glass jet bridges; so I think it is promising that Eppley may consider doing so. Especially since the airport is near OMA and the climate is similar. MCI also had glass jet bridges in their renderings from the get go, Eppley does not......

Re: Omaha Eppley Airfield
I get that. United keeps deleting it from their placeholder schedule but once they move beyond their placeholder, less changes have been happening. They had to stop a bunch of stuff because of SFO runway work that goes through July this year. Therein lies the problem though. The actual schedule the...

OMA-SFO now loaded as 2 times daily for October. Both 76 seat regional jets instead of the placeholder mainline aircraft they had on the schedule. If this sticks which I guess it will, it's a pretty good schedule with a 745am and late afternoon departures from Omaha and a morning and evening depart...

1.2 million for what I would think is the slowest quarter of the year. Might be a 5.5 million year. Yeah the first quarter is typically the lowest at Eppley, with second being the highest. If you continue the 7% year-over-year growth rate for the year so far( fairly high growth rate...) you'd end u...

Re: Lincoln Airport (LNK)
I'm no expert in airport administration. A question. How many people are needed to manage 8 flights? Renovating offices? A priority? As I understand it Lincoln taxpayers are paying for some if not all of this. Were I a taxpayer I wouldn't be happy about this. Bring more flights/destinations/airline...

It doesn't matter whether it's Nashville, Austin, Sint Maarten, or Kona, I'm not going to spend a week in one place until the next week's flight comes back to get me. That's just how I roll. I don't think that is how most people roll either. Maybe consumers are willing to fly OMA-BNA and return BNA...

Re: Omaha Eppley Airfield
For two weeks a year (SXSW and the F1 race), AUS is a leisure destination. I instead look at it as a major metro, warts and all just like OMA in a lot of respects. I'm sure Nashville feels the same way, but when a route is being started 1x a week on a weekend, that by definition is pretty much a le...

Re: Charles Schwab Field Omaha (TDAPO)
Highly unlikely. MLB teams are the most challenging for a city to maintain given the number of home games they play. And there are many other untapped markets the MLB could go to before Omaha. Yeah that isn't talking about maintaining an MLB team at all. It is about having an MLB temporarily play s...

Considering the size of markets, LNK should be much higher than it is. They self-admitted in 2020 that they were losing about 70% of their natural market to Omaha. I suspect that is probably low.
