Minor detail, but the former Cheaters' building in the southeast corner has a notice in one of its windows that a liquor license is being sought.
Also, they've installed lamps on the wooden façade that were illuminated tonight. I don't have a picture, but they look pretty nice.

There was a crane and a bunch of earth movers just south of the old power plant today. I assume it is something to do with the sewer separation work, just caught my eye driving down 10th. I think you're right that it's related to the sewer separation project. Â Most likely it's what they're callin...

I had been wondering about what was going on at this intersection. I walk through it pretty much daily, and have noticed the work being done. As of this posting, the former Cheaters is still seeing a good deal of interior work, the former Reading Grounds has been seeing activity inside too (work li...

Just realized that I was looking at the wrong property on Google Maps, which explains why none of the buildings looked right in the property record that Brad posted. History of buildings near 48th and Howard?
A question about some neighborhood history: Does anyone know what the older, brick buildings east of 46th and between Dodge and Davenport (in the Dodge Street Corridor behind Westlake Ace Hardware) were/are used for? They're not usually visible from 46th due to the trees, but they were clearly des...

Cheers to the milestone! Â :D I pretty much live in both cities to some extent, so I'm glad to hear both cities are growing. Since we have them, I think the parks are great, but I'd much rather have the building stock back. Given power over space and time, I'd say keep the Gene Leahy Mall and bring Jobber's Canyon back!
