Re: Library Lot & West Gene Leahy Block Redevelopment

Not to be a pesimist but we've seen a LOT of renderings of towers over the past 10 years and not a single one was built. I'm hoping that they truly have an anchor already locked in because that's the only way we'll ever get a tower actually built. Or they are building it purely on what they see Oma...

Re: Official: Shamrock Development (10th and Capitol)

Warning RANT ahead, but i have to let this one go .... The lack of coordination with MECA and the City on this is embarrassing, and I blame the leadership of both. The result is a district (or lack thereof) adjacent to it's event center that has been surpassed by Lincoln and Kansas City. The city ju...

Re: Official: Shamrock Development (10th and Capitol)

Stil trying to secure funding?  Wall Street Tower version II. I had such high hopes and heard so many good promising things early on. I believe this will still happen since there are so many groups that want this to succeed. However, once the Crossroads project breaks ground, and if we see a Midtow...

I heard a very unconfirmed rumor this week that Townsend has or will be putting up the building for re-sale for $45 Million.  Any one else hearing anything?  Maybe it's a sign he wants to exit Omaha.  I noticed all of the Wall Street Tower signs are gone from the Old U.P. sight.

Big E,

You can't go wrong with staying at the Orchard Garden Hotel.  It is one of the very few "certified" green hotels in the US.  I have stayed there twice and not been disappointed.

Redfield, thanks for the update. It apppears that with the combination of reservations at Jlofts and the Wall Street Tower that the condo market downtown is very healthy ... over 70 reserved condos, at high price points, since July. Prudential and Urban Omaha may not agree if you look at the numbers...

adam186, will jlofts require 50% sold before construction? How many of the 55 are sold (with non refundable earnest deposits)?

Since it is the newest project, sales at the jlofts projects is probably the best indicator of downtown condo sales.

The sales pace for the project is great news. I would attribute it mostly to the location, high quality marketing effort and a new product being built from the ground up. I expect the same from the Wall Street Tower when their sales effort begins. Sales have certainly slowed over the last 8 months o...

The contractor that Townsend has mentioned, J.E. Dunn, is building two side by side 23 story glass towers in Denver.

The project will have an outdoor swimming pool on the 8th floor and a 500 space parking garage. Units will wrap around the garage.

Dave Matthews Band coming to Omaha

The group will be playing the Qwest center on Sunday, Nov. 27. I think the last time they played Omaha was in '96 at the Civic. Tickets go on sale Oct. 8th.

The Ashton Building changed hands in 2003 for around $1M. I can't recall who the owner is, but I'm certain that it is not Hot Shops. As for the use I don't know if the current owner has any redevelopment plans. I think that certain portions of the building are leased for storage and artist use. If y...

The property is 3.24 acres and includes two small parcels that are in the parking lot across the street. The listing price is $6,332,580. The estimated price for the demolition is around $1.2M. The potential for the property is unlimited, but the price, in my opinion, is too steep and is not reflect...
