2572, 2574 and 2576 Harney have all been demolished. There was a third fire in 2572 on April 8th. Prior fires on March 26th and in December 2022.
This could be a prime lot for another 5 over 1 apartment building, especially with the street car coming.

Re: Holy Family Church (23rd & Ave B)
I’m not a religious person, but I know a pretty building when I see one. Hopefully, this building can be saved. I agree. not an over-the-top building, but very simple and beautiful. The stained glass windows are original and probably the best feature. Hopefully they can be removed prior to demoliti...

Thanks for adding Jacob. The other picture cut off the full visual. Glad to see a buffered bike lane is part of the design! Although, I feel like they could do something more aesthetically pleasing. Brentwood has fallen on hard times since Baker’s closed. But it still is home to excellent restaurants: Thai Orchids and Dragon Cafe. I always end up at Dragon Cafe on Mondays. Many other private Chinese restaurants are closed Mondays (getting ethnic food on a Monday is a real challenge), but Drago...

I think something being overlooked here is that this is not a good place for a bunch of housing. It is very loud from the highway and smells terrible quite often from the packing plants just under the highway from the location. It is not a location to subsidize building. I don’t know if anyone remembers, but Eddy(Galas) had a fine dining restaurant on South 24th called Eddy’s near 24th & N for decades. For a long time, this place, Short Stop, Marcio’s and Johnny’s were(I think) the only “nice” places in S.O.. Sometime after I moved away they switched to caterin...

I wonder if it will become another store like Lowes or if they would demolish it and use the land for something else. There has to be pretty good demand for that land with all the other restaurants, car dealerships and retail near the area, not to mention being right off of I-80. If Menard's owns t...

A nice win for the Southport area! It will be great to have a large daytime population in Southport again. Agreed. It will be good for the restaurants around there to have decent lunch crowds again. I think that has been the national trend for maybe the past 25 years. Actually Omaha still has many grocery options, including ALDI, Natural Grocers, Trader Joe’s and Whole Foods, in addition to the mega stores. Super Targets are also all over town. I'm not so sure it's the case anymore, but at one...

Full scale remodel is finally happening at the Papillion Super Target.
