I frequently stop at the Loves in St. Joseph when I drive to KC. It's usually (at least close to) the cheapest gas between Omaha and KC.

Re: OPS Superintendent opening down to 0 again

The fact that both finalists simultaneously dropped out and released a joint statement seems to suggest they no longer wanted to deal with the board and/or administration. The impression I got from the Talking Heads yesterday is that both of them were more or less snubbed by the board and the headh...

My guess is the market is more competitive and they found greener pastures to pursue. Perhaps some of their current districts offered to pay them to stay maybe?

Comparitavily, Bemis Park was a cakewalk compared to where we came from! I lived in that area for a while back in the 1970s. I thought the neighborhood was not bad at all. Very eclectic mix of all types of people at the time, from twentysomethings to younger families to middle age types. The neighb...

The "original" Parkers I'm thinking of is out on the "old road" by Ashland. I don't go that way that often but IIRC it was open the last time I went by.

Thanks for those pictures. I have never heard of that Walnut Hill park, nor even knew about that fountain. The Dunkin Donuts opened up around mid November and I have been in there several times about 6:30 AM and I was always the only customer they had. So far hardly anybody in Millard is going there at all. That strip center is going to be a tough place for a business to make a go of it I guarantee it. ...

I've been banking with what is now Wells Fargo for as long as I've been here. Does anyone know the tallest point in Omaha? I assume the river is the lowest. I have heard before that 49th and Dodge is the tallest point, but that could be just urban legend. Back when I lived in the area, it was "common knowledge" amongst the neighbors that the Walnut Hill Reservoir, ...

I also think the Dodge Expressway is great. I'll often take it if I drive in using 168th. I've also wondered why there is no exit on Blondo from 680. I assume that it was because when it was build, the growth on Blondo out there was not enough to justify it.
