Some people are pretty proud of themselves. Having a degree is nice but frankly there are lots of jobs that require one to limit the pool, but don't really require one to actually do the job. There are lots of jobs that are hard, nasty, and even require a lot of skill that deserve a better wage t...

Re: Omaha Top 25?
LOL Now I will say that since we've been here a while the fast food workers don't seem as friendly so maybe we just hit it on a good day. But generally.....the people here are nice. I haven't lived on the west coast but have lived in Ohio, Pennsylvania and North Carolina and I really prefer Nebraska...

Re: Drive-in theatre?
Very cool, I was always hoping they would rebuild the drive-in Council Bluffs that was torn down to make way for Google, but that never happened. I think they even mentioned they were at one point looking to buy land to rebuild, but it fell through. I love the movies in the Park Midtown Crossing...

Thank you! I have given his name to my daughter and she's going to give him a try. We're pretty far south but don't mind the drive for something this important.

Pediatrician Recommendation?
My daughter is looking for a pediatrician for her children. My youngest is 14 and goes to our family physician but she prefers a pediatrician - anyone have any recommendations?

Agreed! I will have to read up on that - we've been trying to find new places to eat every now and then. Sometimes we find a gem...other times not so much

Re: Omaha Top 25?
There are some great ideas here! For me the top things are: 1. The numbered streets! Moving here from a small town in NW Pennsylvania it was comforting to know I really couldn't get lost 2. The people! One day, shortly after we moved here for good in 2004 we were in a McDonald's and the manager stop...

New / Not New to Omaha
Hello everyone! I've actually been living in Omaha since 2004 but it still seems "like we just moved here". I did live here twice for about a year each time in 1983 and 1990. A lot sure has changed, but Omaha is still the great city that I remember. I love how easy it is to navigate around...
