My reply got lost in the ether, so here goes: Thanks for your research, it's comprehensive. It doesn't matter whether it's Nashville, Austin, Sint Maarten, or Kona, I'm not going to spend a week in one place until the next week's flight comes back to get me. That's just how I roll. A point I may ha...

You mean the restaurant tax implemented by Jim Suttle, that had to be done because Mike Fahey screwed up pension negotiations with the police and fire unions? That restaurant tax? Sure, that tax - why does it still exist? :) From a morals perspective, it didn't take the mayor too long to move on fr...

While I feel bad that they are getting evicted, it's just business. The strip owner sees an opportunity to fill numerous empty bays at once and probably generate more revenue than they are making now. sucks that they lose their spot after 58 years, but the owner kind of sounded unhinged on their so...

To 99 percent of the city, that’s the major point. No one wants to see taxes raised higher. The vast majority of this city will not be riding the streetcar, and she had to address that. 99% of the city won't drive on 168th and Fort. So we shouldn't build infrastructure out there? Or we only shouldn...

Can you elaborate about everything happening in spite of her? Provide insight on what leads you to believe that? I don't think that many things could possibly happen in spite of her. She will be tough to beat this cycle. There are a lot of projects in progress along with GLM/HOA that are complete to tout. Any challenger, regardless of party, would need to show up with some pretty significant clout and vision to have a chance. Plenty of room to improve in areas, but I can't hate...

The building is on the National Registry and some rich people have fancy apartments at the top. There is a 0% chance of it being torn down. Miss Jeneie In A Bottle is already hated enough, she would not allow that PR nightmare and city backlash. Lots of older people have an attachment to the buildi...

“Just run buses or shuttles.”
This. The intent should be to get people easily from the airport to downtown. There are not developable opportunities due to jails, homeless shelters, a lake, and airport property itself.

We all knew it was only a matter of time before Lot B and D were developed. There is no need to have every lot of their own garage. Lot D is huge. It's not. Gas stations end up making about three to seven cents a gallon off the gas.

Personally I thought the Mercantile made sense too, but with grocery being a thin profit margin industry maybe the rent is too much? From elsewhere on the board, there is supposedly going to be something going in North Downtown. So the most likely contenders are the Civic Site and 16th and Burt-ish.

I’m siding with 11th and Harney. 1. The recent soil sampling that was done, and 2. There already was kind of a release about the Civic site. For a press conference to be called, I’d have to think that entails something “new”. Edit: if it IS 10th and Harney (or the old UP site), it will be more than ...

Ground floor retail, half office space / half hotel. Assuming FNBO would have occupied the office space anyways. With the Woodman Tower coming online a few years later and us having both a 30-story and a 36-story by 1970, I wonder if there would have been more aggressiveness in building upwards?

A garage is being torn down in order to build new garages, that the city has to pay for?
Thumbs down from me.
