Re: HyVee Growth Plans

That doesn't surprise me. Every time I look at the cafe/bar at 108th and Fort, it's dead. They really had a good business going with just having people eat what each of their deli/Chinese/kitchen places were serving. No need to mess with that.

Re: DISCUSSION: Sarpy County/Royals Stadium

People complaining about Werner Park's location make it sound like they built the thing West of Springfield or something. 123rd and Highway 370 is a very busy corridor, and that area will definitely fill in with time. Yes, and it's a 20-25 minute drive to most parts of Omaha. People in larger citie...

Re: DISCUSSION: Sarpy County/Royals Stadium

I believe you're confusing the development around Werner with the Storm Chasers themselves. I concede that TD is too big for the Storm Chasers. But I go to Husker, Creighton and UNO games and when we eat beforehand, there are plenty of restaurants and bars filled with people wearing the team attire...

Re: Tetrad Development (Civic Auditorium)

Uninspiring, but there are three potential wins here:

1.) A grocery store comes to downtown
2.) The main library comes to this site and opens the current library site for development
3.) The NE State Offices move here and opens the brick monstrosity to development on the south side of Leahy Mall.

Re: 2017 Omaha Mayoral Election

I think Stothert wins re-election. Mayors are typically kicked out for two reasons:

1.) The city goes into a noticeable decline, or
2.) The mayor isn't able to make a "connection" with their constituents (Jim Suttle)

I don't see Stothert having a problem with either.

Given the proposed track, is the thought that there will be only one car that will simply run back and forth? Or would there be two that would be timed so that they pass each other where the "square" section of track occurs at 14th/16th street rather than block each other?
