Re: St. Patrick's Church going apartments
It is a good looking building! I'm not sure how unique it really is (from the outside it looks like a lot of other churches). On the new apartments, that doesn't sound interesting. Apartments without a demographic yet... Unfortunately, I think this will be a hugely missed opportunity. I would have ...

By what measure? I guess we could let the plot sit and wait for that 100 story Creighton dorm. Come on now.

the "low information voter" of sweet treats. Now that's funny! But in my mind the doughnut takes the crown of most benighted confection. I do wonder why, though, something like a French bakery hasn't taken hold in/around the old market. Where even is the nearest one? Le Petite Paris...

Supply and demand. If the Regency store is already drawing enough people from east of 72nd(which it is) wouldn't those people shop at a much closer store!? I would. In fact one might even shop there more often if it were closer where one lives. You're right, it's all about supply and demand. Ope...

Based on the comments in the Civic article it sounds like having a regular full service grocery store is not likely. They said if grocery is built downtown it would have to be a destination brand like Whole Foods or Trader Joe's. Somehig people would travel past other options for. I wonder ...

I though the nordstroms rack talk was more for Nebraska crossing and a full store at westroads. Early on in the process Nordstrom's name was thrown around for Crossroad's as was everyone's favorite rumor, Macy's. Speaking of duds and money losers, I can't think of a bigger one than that aging, dilapidated eye-sore that is Crossroads today. Its cringe worthy. Every fall many, many out-of-town college students and their parents descend upon Omaha for the first (or nearly first) time . Every freshman needs a Ta...

What would be interesting is if this became akin to Aksarben, substituting Creighton for UNO. The location is prime for CU to get itself involved somehow, even peripherally. As unrealistic as it may be, I continue to hope for a chicago-esque high-rise dorm to replace the two aging freshman facilitie...
