Re: Area west of Askarben
That land was going to be a joint project between UNO and the early child education foundation that Susie Buffetts foundation supports. That project was cancelled a year ago. The Aksarben trust/Noddle bought back that land last year. I was told early this year that there is a strong interest and loo...

Even without taking into account the struggles facing retailers, I seriously doubt any new to the Omaha market retailers such as REI, crate and barrel, or big name who ever, would even consider Westroads or Oakview. New to Omaha retailers will be looking at new "exciting" developments like...

You probably would have not seen an ultra luxury brand in Omaha for another 5 years if it wasn't for all of them making SUVs now. Most of these high end SUVs make a $30-40K profit before buyers start adding on options. There's plenty of money in Omaha to be spent. The news article I saw said there i...

I think Alamo going in here has the potential to spur MTC to redevelop itself over the next 2-3 years after years of disappointing lack of growth to become destination for entertainment. I see this as a no brainer for Alamo. They pretty much take over a turn-key business with a very minimal upfront ...

The area that will house the retail space in the parking garage is built. I think there will be an additional 2-3 bays to the north of these on what will be the NW corner of the garage.

Not surprising this didn't go through. This land is kind of in the middle of no where when it comes to where the current growth is and where future growth is being focused more east. At it stands, this is a very self-serving, short sighted idea. If Omaha wants a street car system that works, it needs to be fully committed. The proposed routes are geared toward those who will be doing development along those routes. Go all in and connect Baxster Arena, AV, UNO, UNMC, midtown, Cre...

Re: HDR Aksarben Office
Rendering drawings rarely give an accurate depiction of what the final product will present like. Sunlight, shadowing, variations of surface texture (gloss, matte, smooth, rough) surrounding buildings, internal/external lighting, etc. all play a role that no drawings can reflect. I think this buildi...
