Re: Downtown parking update?
As a resident of downtown this would be a terrible idea for downtown. I already pay for monthly parking so it doesn't matter for me directly but think anyone that wants to have guests over at night or people that stay in town for the weekend. I only have monthly fee garages near me so all guests hav...

Re: Official: Omaha Streetcar Discussion
I will need to break out my dream system maps, etc. I have nerded out and worked on them, on and off, for the past 10 years I think. Thanks Google My Maps for bringing them to fruition. :-) I have a streetcar system, which I just realistically tweaked, a light rail system, and a commuter rail "...

Re: Official: Omaha Streetcar Discussion
I would imagine that it wouldn't be sustainable unless park and rides are located next to the light rail system. With parking being shifted around the city think of all the possibilities that would open of for future developments downtown. A lot of parking lots/garages could be converted into someth...

Great point about the airport! If we could have the airport, Creighton, UNMC, Conagra, UP, Kiewit, BRK, Mutual of Omaha, Midtown Crossing, TDAmeritrade Park, Centurylink, HDR, Capital District, Blackstone district all connected it would be a tremendous for people visiting the city. Hopefully a futur...

With all these hotel rooms coming online MECA may as well start the convention center expansion. There was an article today saying that Omaha needs more incentive tools to compete for conventions. Here is a link http://www.omaha.com/news/metro/omaha-should-offer-incentives-to-keep-up-in-competitive...

Re: NHL Formally Approves Opening Expansion Process
I was in a meeting with the economic developer of Vegas back in March and they are willing to do just about anything to get a professional sports team in that city.

NHL Formally Approves Opening Expansion Process
The NHL will begin accepting applications from people interested in pursuing an expansion team. Las Vegas, Seattle, Quebec, and Toronto appear to be on the short list, with KC, Portland, and Milwaukee also expressing interest. Expansion fee will be at least $500 million. Even if Omaha is 20+ years a...

Hearing they are working to make this a little start up village, reusing old shipping containers. And I know this sounds far fetched but I'm just relaying the message.
