It looks like they started on it in the last 2-3 weeks. They are now doing dirt work north of Panda Express. This can't get this built soon enough! I am noticing that Chick-Fil-A is really moving into the Midwest now, they are building a free standing CFA in Cedar Rapids, IA now as well (saw it on...

according to the hydrological forecast for the river from NOAA, the river is supposed to drop to 35 feet in the next 5 days. Guess that's a little bit of good news in this flooding situation\mess... but we need to see a much bigger drop than that to take more pressure off these levees. Hoping that ...

The river hit 36ft this morning at 8 in Omaha. Which means the river hit the top end of the 34-36 foot range the Army COE predicted for this event. For the last week, the river forecast has predicted that the river would stay steady or fall - only for it to rise higher each day. The current forecas...

New TD Ameritrade record crowd tonight of 26,271! The atmosphere tonight during the later innings of the game was the best in several years... that has definitely transferred over from Rosenblatt to the new stadium. I already can't wait until the 2012 College World Series (got a long way to go, LOL...

I guess I was under the impression (and swore I heard many, many times), that because of the existing snow-pack in the west/northwest of us, that these river levels would be around through the fall months. I also know that some residents from Hamburg north to Pacific Junction/Plattsmouth have been ...

More bad news - the levee has given way west of Hamburg, IA (WOWT.com reports the breach is 60 feet wide and rapidly growing, in these situations it won't take long for much of the levee to give way unfortunately)... appears that parts of the town and the stretch of Interstate 29 in that area are in...

Some pictures from the Bob Kerrey Pedestrian Bridge today. Around 2pm, a deck was seen in the swollen Missouri River as it passed the bridge - took a couple pictures of it... was quite a sight to see - and I am sure there will plenty more to see in the coming days, unfortunately. http://s3.postimage...

The flooding will soon be affecting the Interstate Highway system in the northern parts of the Omaha metro. There are reports that as early as tonight perhaps, that Interstate 29 between the 25th Street Exit in Council Bluffs (the northern-most exit on I-29 in C.B.) and the I-29\I-680 North intercha...

Wow, this could definitely be one of the Top 2 events of the Summer in Omaha - only the College World Series would be bigger (in terms of total attendance). I think they could fit a few more than 18,000 into TD Ameritrade for the headliner concerts as well, with the infield, I am thinking they could...

That was a pretty nasty severe thunderstorm that rolled across the Omaha metro area tonight... following up an equally nasty day across the city, which featured a high of 96 with dewpoints around 80 degrees. As of 10pm, there are currently 32,500 households without power around the Omaha metro area ...
South Carolina captures the CWS Championship with a 2-0 series sweep, as the Gamecocks notch a 2-1 win in 11 innings at the final game at the Blatt. An exciting way to finish off the last College World Series at Rosenblatt Stadium. The total attendance record will not fall of course, with there bein...

Anyone know if Rosenblatt's organ is going to transplanted at TDA I read an article on omaha.com last year after the CWS that said that the organ will in fact be moved to the new TD Ameritrade Park... the article also mentioned that Lambert Bartak was planning on continuing to play the organ as lon...

Yuck, nothing to see here... what a sub-par season for the Jays and today was no exception. Its been a while since a Creighton team went into March Madness and laid an egg like they did today . The intersection of Saddle Creek and Farnam looks like a war zone. I was thinking the same thing today while driving on Military between 72nd and 90th Streets today. A gravel road would have been smoother than the road surface on that stretch right now. I saw one Honda Civic blow out a front tire i...

Looks like this might not be over yet, finally the state recognizes that maybe the prank started by collegehumor.com, did affect the voting process, and cause our favorite black, white and red plate to win! I think it is worth mentioning that the Jays' 15-0 rout of Nebraska tonight, was the WORST LOSS by Nebraska at Haymarket Park. This comes after a 15-1 shellacking by Kansas State this last weekend. This game was a tale of one team moving up (Creighton), while the other one is falling, and very quick...

Either way Booker Woodfox showed us all why he was the Mo Valley Player of the Year! What a shot, and what a way to save the Bluejays' chances at an MVC Tournament Championship and NCAA bid hopes. True, I guess I didn't take into consideration that we had plenty of drinks while we were dining... so that always make everything seem expensive.
