Re: SEC 72nd & Farnam redevelopment
I guess I see an apartment complex like the Swivel down the street. It's long and skinny in shape. Flip it into that space and right against the retaining wall. Zoning will not allow that. The residential to the east is zoned R3, so there is a 30 foot landscape buffer along the east property line. ...

Re: Hyatt Place (12th and Jackson)
I believe I stayed there in 2016, and the views of downtown were reallynice. If I recall, it was more than $10 per night to park there, so in my opinion it would be ideal to ditch the car. The location is perfect for anyone who wants to go to the zoo during the day and enjoy downtown nightlife in th...

Re: Light Rail to Airport - Existing Track
I think the rail line to CB and the bridge over the river should be preserved for potential use in the future. The idea of a rail line to the airport sounds amazing, but I doubt Eppley will ever be busy enough to justify it. That being said, I think Eppley is very much underserved by the bus, and an...

If you go back in time in Google maps, it looks like the building was rehabbed in 2019, and the doors that led to the decks were partially boarded up. I'd be interested to know exactly what is wrong with the building.

Brightline West between Las Vegas and the Los Angeles area is proposed to be built in the median of Interstate 15. The distance is about 220 miles at a cost of $12 billion. The distance from the Omaha train station to the Lincoln train station is 60 miles. According to my calculations ($54 million p...

Did you travel coach or in a private room? I traveled coach on the way out and Business Class on the way back. Coach was nice. The train car was new and much easier to spread out than on an airplane. It's been a while since I was a student at UNO, but they periodically had luncheons, lectures, and other events at the student center. At the time, the administration was adamant that the campus remain dry. Perhaps student drinking has fallen to a level that permits the use of alcohol in some spaces.

I read the article in the Examiner, and the TIF critics made criticisms that will need to be addressed at some point for future use of TIF (intended to be used to address blight). The streetcar is not being built in a blighted area, so how does this project help neighborhoods far away from the route...
