The Paxton which has condos ranging from 300K to over 800K is directly across the street from the current library.

OK, your risk not mine.

Re: UNL Innovation campus

I just happened to be on the Innovation Campus yesterday and saw the new Mill area under construction. Big space with floor to ceiling glass walls. Artwork in the hallways with comfortable space for working etc. Very beautiful calming space, nice to see this come together.

Re: Crossroads - Redevelopment Plan

I had a group attend the show "Beehive" at the small theater in the Crossroads. The performance was fantastic, Omaha should take pride in local talent. On the other hand, the Crossroads itself was so depressing. How could a city the size and stature of Omaha, allow this eyesore to exist? T...

Re: Aloft Hotel - 180th and Harney

In Boston there is a new Aloft and Element Hotel accross the street from each other. These two hotel concepts work well together. It would be nice to get another hotel in Midtown. The Element is great, add an Aloft and then perfect.

Re: Boys Town and farmland (144th Dodge)

Let's see if we can get 2 bedroom condos for under $200,000 and monthly fees around $200 I will be right next to you with a deposit as long as they have first floor retail. I would even go $250k depending on the HOA fees. I originally thought of this property like Westgate in Glendale AZ and they h...

Re: What does Omaha need?

Omaha needs to stop following and reinventing what other cities design. Grow Omaha by new fresh ideas. Sadle Creek records, Godfathers Pizza, the Old Market, The College World Series, UNO are great. Omaha was named after the native ameican tribe meaning "Against the current," so do it. Sel...

Re: Journey Senior Living (Canopy & N Sts.)

If this was a 50+ active adult condo facility, this would have been very successful in Lincoln. Independent living folks do not want to live in a hospital, and that's pretty much what an assisted living facility is. Build something for middle income retired folks that are in their 50-60-70's, not ju...

Too bad Omaha doesn't get a Madonna ProActive health and fitness center. The one in Lincoln is phenomenal. Maybe that's coming next?

Re: River's Edge Development (Playland Park)

I hope they end up building condos that you can purchase. It seems everything built these days are rental apartments. What about people who want to live permanently in the metro area? Everything doesn't need to be super high-end. $250- 300K+ condos would sell fast. Build affordable housing, keep peo...

Re: Active 55+ lifestyle community?

Thanks for your responses. I think Omaha could use a community like this http://www.epconcommunities.com" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; (I have no affiliation). It seems everything being built is connected to an an assisted living type facility. Clearly, there is major mone...

Active 55+ lifestyle community?

I am not old enough or immobile enough to even consider an assisted living facility. Stop trying to sell me a hospital lifestyle. I am soon to retire, I want to live (buy) an Omaha home/condo/townhome. I do not need someone to feed me. I do not need a concierge, or 24 hr. health care. Where are the ...

Re: John E. Johnston & Son Funeral Home

I grew up in this neighborhood and I think its great that there's a movement to revitalize the neighborhood. I might be a target customer. I do hope that the developers keep the integrity and history of the neighborhood intact. I am concerned that the Son's of Italy next door to the funeral home mig...
