Re: Official: Aksarben Village

Something is going on with the Inner Rail - they had a bunch of stuff stockpiled around today. Inner rail should be open by the end of September, I also hear the second week of Sept. Coolers and other equipment started going in yesterday. Plywood walls are coming down and windows/doors are going in...

Re: Olive and Ash Pizza Co. (122 & Military)

We wanted to to try their pizza but their pricing was the most expensive that I've seen in Omaha. I think the minimum price for a pizza was nearly $20. If you are going to use price as a means of evaluating pizza places then you are going to be in trouble real fast. As a rule of thumb I find the ch...

Any idea what the plan is for the land next to HDR? They've been moving around dirt quite a bit. Also, is there any talk about what is going in foodwise in the food hall in the Inner Rail?

For me, the only spot more disappointing would have been south somewhere in Papillion/La Vista and that area may not have even been an option. They have grossly underestimated how awful traffic will be or how it is now it appears.

Q: I’m concerned about getting in and out of the area. Have you looked at the traffic situation? We have conducted numerous traffic studies for the Aksarben area. Certainly, there will be times when traffic is heavier, particularly when there is an event at Baxter Arena or at Stinson Park. However, ...

HDR is already 6 months behind plan basically and waiting on Boystown is an additional 12 months most likely. Something that many of you aren't likely aware of is that the current parking situation at HDR is a mess. Approximately 1/3-1/4 of the employees at 84th and Dodge don't have parking by the building. Is it not possible to do a short-term extension on their current lease so they can have a little more time to get this right? True, but Celebrity will build the exact same house model, 20 in a row and just change colors.  Then they'll do the same thing again with a slightly more expensive model.  It's exactly what they did by Standing Bear lake.  Totally detracts from that area and ruins how nice it was out there.
