Anyone heard when this will be open?  It looks like the outside work is basically done (and looks great), not sure about inside.  Famous Dave's website has it listed as a location, but still as "Coming Soon".

So, what are your favorite JJ sandwiches?  Is this a good place to ask that?   I went there once, had no idea what to get so I got something boring... here I come to find out (from their website) they have a bazillion different combos I didn't know about.  That's what I get for going through the ...

I've never eaten at said restaurant, but... is their ATM a privately owned ATM or one from a local bank?  Just curious if they try to direct people to the ATM so they get the 2 buck fee or what-have-you, and don't have to pay additional merchant fees for running cards. I have to say, I've had excel...

I drove past Summer Kitchen at 6 pm and I could not see a single empty parking spot. Now this is a great example of where a quality locally-owned independent restaurant can put down its roots and succeed where otherwise it would be just Yet Another {fill in a chain restaurant}. We need to support t...

The pictures are just mind-blowing... this has all been on the national news over the weekend (probably only because of the Olympic trials....), so I've had lots of family call and ask how things are here. I saw in the paper today that Lauritzen Gardens had uprooted trees and damaged plants, and it ...

Channel 7 said they haven't seen a storm with the widespread severity of this one in 15 years.  Crazy stuff. We haven't ventured out, but I live around 120th and Q and very little damage here.  One of our neighbors had half a tree fall down, but apparently it was rotten and they knew it was gonna ...

We live in the 122nd and Q area and had no damage... amazing what just a few blocks can do.  Also Brad, I saw you took a picture of a red and cream colored house across from the QuikTrip around Q and Harry Andersen - that house was for sale just a few months ago and I believe sold quickly (I was ey...

Shirley's is still around... or at least the sign is still there, I haven't been in there in years but I remember it being pretty good diner food. I'm looking forward to seeing the show... I can't stand Guy's Big Bite, but Diners Drive-ins and Dives is a decent show.  He eats some nasty looking stu...

I lived in Corby Castle about 10 years ago, those are the apartments on the corner of 680 and Maple to the east.  I liked the location back then, and it's definitely improved even further since.  Very, very easy to get anywhere too.  Welcome to the area!!

Segways in Omaha?

Long shot here... but is there anywhere in the city or nearby where a person can rent a Segway?  My husband has desperately wanted to ride one since they were released, and I'd love to set something up for Father's day for him.  I know Scheels sells them, not sure if they do test drives but I'd ra...

Today on Cutchall Management's business sign at 144th and Q, it says "Coming soon Famous Dave's 120th and L".  So it's definitely not a rumor anymore.  I wonder how quick they'll be able to open.

Does that Austin's do much business anymore?  Last time I went there, there was only 1 other table occupied, but we were there at an odd time so I tried not to think much of it.  Also, they were doing a Sunday 10-2 lunch buffet a couple months ago, but have since stopped doing it.  Been wondering...

I only shop at Bakers on occasion, but that particular store on Giles is always busy, so I'd be surprised to see it close.  Maybe the Supercenter's taken away enough customers to not make it profitable anymore, I dunno.  The Bakers around 130th and Q would be a better choice, there's rarely a soul...

How's your water? Mine stinks and tastes bad

We live in the 120th and Q area, and our water has been terrible for the past few days.  Called MUD this morning and they said they added extra chlorine to the water to fight the snow runoff, but it shouldn't taste bad... just smell funny for the next few days.  Since ours tastes like pool water, ...

I saw a news show about this many months ago, and was totally enthralled by it.  The giant animatronic dinosaurs are awesome by themselves, but then they have people dressed in raptor costumes as well that run around and seem very real (well, as real as we can imagine dinos to be).  I am gonna try...

What building is this going into?  I'm not remembering a bakery building (not down there all to much).
