Re: Begging on Street Corners

Rules for panhandling get overhaul The Omaha City Council approved an overhaul to the city’s panhandling ordinance Tuesday, and council members said they’re working on further changes that would ban panhandling in street medians. Wait, this explains the off ramp trend, it's probably a loophole to t...

Heh, I came here to start this exact thread, and I see Brad was a year ahead of me. Guess I didn't notice last year but this year it's getting ridiculous. I get off of I-680 at Maple at least once a day and EVERY SINGLE TIME there is someone there. Not always the same person though. I am also seeing...

Re: Omaha Metro Area's Best BBQ

Well FWIW Ozark's Smoked Meat has permanently closed. I know it wasn't terribly popular among the members of this site but it's disappointing for me because they were right down the street and very convenient. However, it's not surprising because something had seemed off about the place lately, the ...

I see on the Wabash Trace Nature Trail Facebook page they are re-decking a some of the bridges.  Looks like they are using a composite material this time around. Or is that wood structure? And if so, how has it not rotted out after 100 years? I am sure 95% of it is gone, but you still see a piece here and there.  The wood wasn't ever meant to be permanent. Ah, I gotcha. I suppose by the time the wood had deteriorated the dirt was stable enough to support th...

The creepy one was on 120th near "L" before it was torn out and widened. It was the same as the one currently on 50th and the one that was at 84th back in the day.  They were all built at the same time in 1908 when the Lane Cutoff was built.  Here are some photos of them building the Lane...

I rode my bike down Abbott Dr the day after that storm and checked out the debris on the ground from them and they were some type of hard plastic.

You would probably have to bulldoze several houses to widen the stretch of Q street from 72nd to 84th considering that it goes through Ralston. It would be more than a few houses, it would destroy entire neighborhoods because the alignment isn't there. It's not really even a thru street as it is, a...

To add access to EB I-80 from Q st as you're suggesting would've meant one of two things. Either they'd have to put a loop in off the SE corner of the overpass, which I don't believe there would've been room for even before the widening, or a left turn on ramp such as the idiotic one they just put i...

And you're not even figuring in their commercial holdings.
