Re: 1416 Dodge - Lanoha Highrise
As someone who's spouse is a realtor, condos are not easy to sell in Omaha. When potential buyers are looking at houses vs condos, you get a lot more value out of a house, a $300K house in Omaha is A LOT of house especially compared to other big cities. There is just so many more advantages to spend...

96th and Dodge
Does anybody know what the plans are for the lot on 96th and dodge? I remember reading that the property had sold earlier in the year. This week there was construction equipment out there tearing down the mansion on the property. I apologize if there is a thread on this already, could not find anyth...

Re: Parker's Smokehouse Replacing McKenna's!
Parker's was started by a former Famous Dave's manager and hence the menu is almost an exact replica of Famous Dave's (even down to the 'sauce tours' they give new customers.) I'll take the original over the knock off any day. That might be, but their food is better than Famous Daves, you don't hav...

Re: Row Houses (70th & Cass)
I never understood why so many people use Underwood as an alternative to Dodge during rush periods. It can't be faster than Dodge given that Dodge Street traffic lights are timed to keep traffic flowing. With all its stops and single lane, the only way it can be faster to use underwood is if you ...

Detroit wants to save itself by shrinking
http://msnbcmedia1.msn.com/j/MSNBC/Components/Photo/_new/100308-detroit-hmed-1250p.hmedium.jpg DETROIT - Detroit, the very symbol of American industrial might for most of the 20th century, is drawing up a radical renewal plan that calls for turning large swaths of this now-blighted, rusted-out city...

I think it would look slick if they replicated what was done on the west side(exterior wise), only instead of clubhouses/pressboxes, they put in a upperdeck similar to OU's stadium. That should cover the 10K http://www.amesphotos.com/oklahoma_photos/images/university-of-oklahoma-panoramas-sea-of-soo...

Re: Memorial Stadium
Memorial Stadium Expansion • During my interview with Tom Osborne last week, I asked if NU was considering expanding Memorial Stadium anytime soon. The answer was yes. "We might add 10,000 seats on the east side someday," Osborne said. "We have to make sure we're OK with the recessio...

I'd hope for soccer over lacrosse. At least soccer already has an established base here It does? and lacrosse is a terrible sport, bunch of elitist daddys boys who were not good at any other sport. Which makes it soccer with sticks. :;): Tell Jim Brown that to his face, BTW. Except soccer is an int...

Thanks for the compliments guys. All the models I have created myself, the real buildings(FNB, UP, Woodmen, etc...) are all to scale 1:1 based on dimensions I could find on the internet. Omaha +20 Years...?
Well I've been playing around in Google SketchUP in my spare time, and decided to start drawing up a scale(or as close to it as possible) model of DT Omaha. Started adding additions, so I guess this could be Omaha in twenty or so years. Now I am not done, nor am I a professional so there are a lot o...

It's kind of nested in a off the beaten path location, sided by rundown warehouses and residential.
