Re: Ooh De Lally (Dundee)
We went last night. It was very busy when we got there at 6:15 and we stayed quite a while. We had apps, drinks, an entree, and dessert. The food was amazing and the vibe was great. The cocktails could use a little work, but that was the only miss in my opinion. If they keep up with the quality food...

As I live a few blocks away from this area and I walk by this building often, it’s great to see these bays redeveloped. I am not too hopeful, but it would be nice to see a unique look to the front of the building since it’s on the strip.

I work over at MidAmerican Energy in CB. They split our workforce into two groups. Four 10 hour days per week, with people called in only for emergencies on the weekends. Second crew comes in the next week, so you get 10 days off. Basically a skeleton crew to get by and avoid cross-contamination. Th...

I talked to employees of one of the business that used to be located there a while back and they said the owner of the property lived in New York and didn't care about the businesses vacating. Despite the loss of traffic due to the expressway, it is still a highly trafficked area. All of the other c...

Speaking of Lucky Bucket, either my tastes have changed, I had a bad batch in the past, or the recipe has changed, but Lucky Bucket's Certified Evil is a great beer. While reading the article in the OWH I was thinking, why couldn't this move down to the riverfront? Build a permanent building if they wanted to, put a ferris wheel up, have a beer garden, concerts. You could draw people from Council Bluffs and it would give the fair a lot better exposure.

Fort Calhoun has obviously had it's problems over the years. Unfortunately for the employees and for Blair, it is just not cost effective to keep it operational. It costs OPPD around $50-$70 per megawatt hour to run Fort Calhoun while coal plants are typically $17/MWh and with the tax subsidies wind...

I have eaten there twice now, once with the kids and once without. The kids liked their food for the most part. They thought the kids menu sushi was a bit bland. While the amount has been brought up in the past, people will not be happy being reminded it will raise their bills so much.
