By the way, its still completely illegal to fly a drone in downtown Omaha. I know people do it, but they are breaking the law.

It was pretty nice. To the west there's a steep drop and a gentler one to the south, so you don't see Westroads or Dodge at all.Brad wrote:What was the view like from up there?
Here's a panorama from I think West to Northeast, where you can see the land below:

The other thread ( http://www.eomahaforums.com/viewtopic.php?f=12&t=17166 ) says same use. I don't see any permits filed for new construction. The old front gate is gone so I took a look. House still standing. I guess there was a lot of asbestos to remove. Many of the windows have been removed,...

I wish they would put a temporary side walk in the street. Even in the most pedestrian oriented parts of Omaha we don't provide the basics. Is there a detour? They could be violating some ADA rules. The other side of the street I suppose? I guess that Omaha doesn't have an ordinance to mandate cons...

Has the owner requested any construction permits for the site? I imagine this would be pretty valuable land for apartments, and since they've completed demo, I would have to assume that means the insurance claim has been wrapped up. No plans seem to be filed yet, you can bookmark this link to look ...

I wasn't expressing an opinion really. I prefer half-acre+ lots :-) A mansion like that needs more like an acre and that ain't happening. I think it sold for $170. The issue was that a later bidder wanted to pay more to save it and the guy who paid $170 wanted over $300 to not tear it down. Again, ...

I found this thread looking for the Metz Mansion though, they got their demo permit and it looks like they're overcoming resistance from the city council.

I don't know if this has been put somewhere else, and move/delete it if it has. It's a strict 400 foot limit, decreasing to 0 feet around sensitive areas. The good news (IMO) is that with the Phantom 3 those rules are enforced by the drone itself. The P3 Pro does 4K video, the P3 Advanced only 1080p. Gotta stay away from traffic and people of course, so I haven't gotten a chanc...
