That rendering is atrocious. Perspective is all out of whack and that car in the foreground, eesh. I guess you get what you pay for.

I think what I'm really not liking, are the east/west sides of the building. Looks dated. Also looks like my least favorite building in downtown Des Moines. Also, those exterior "shield/shade panels", on the sides, were a concept of 70's architecture I wish would have never been resurrect...

I still wonder why the Lanoha property (where the old UP building was) isn't being considered by HDR for the their HQ's. I would like to know what type of companies they hope to recruit to fill their proposed building at Lanoha. That project will probably either never happen, or be a very long ways...

This has got to be one of the ugliest buildings I've ever seen from a design and architectural standpoint. HBA should be able to do better than this.

It would be nice if they'd build something like Des Moines' EMC Insurance building, with a 'crown', or maybe like Nashville's 'batman' building... but I'm not going to hold my breath. I'm sure HDR will come up with something nice, whether it's a 300 footer or not, no big deal. These are terrible bu...
