Re: CRIMINAL RECORDS AND OMAHA HOUSING new HUD
Get ready developers, HUD wants your multi-million clubhouse to become an unsupervised daycare. This HUD memo was released today. My heart goes out to all of the owners and property managers who are no longer allowed to have a policy on unsupervised children. Under the terms of the agreement, the o...

CRIMINAL RECORDS AND OMAHA HOUSING new HUD
Prior to April of 2016 acceptable public policy was: Landlords had the right to deny housing based on Felony Convictions and criminal activity that resulted in an arrest; as long as these standards were applied equally. This will now get you into big trouble with HUD. In April of 2016 HUD issued som...

Re: Lyman Richey - Apartment Site 200-300 Units
This is going to be a very unique site given its length and narrow lot with. I see a lot of potential as it sits high before it drops down to Saddle Creek. I think it could be very cool in a row house design if they had parking access and underground garage entry from the Saddle Creek side, possibly...

I so love a good mystery. I don't know why but I find this a fascinating project. I wish I could find the project links you are all so good at because I wanted to review the parking and consider the posts related to those concerns. But heck since tomorrow is a snow day (yea!) I made my own just to see how many would fit. I g...

Re: 51st & Mayberry
I love the debate I see going on about this project. A very good use of the forum and everyone is being nice :) While I agree that the 1/2 block South of Leavenworth is mostly residential, I don't believe that all of the owners share the same level of interest in the area. There are a lot of great h...

Re: 51st & Mayberry
But where are the 400 odd cars going to park? The parking will be underneath the 2 "L" shaped buildings and a large lot right behind 3 Happiness. It sounds to me like the parking is factored into the plans. The apartment residents are not going to be parking in the driveways of the houses.

I understand the frustration of neighbors who have previously enjoyed the view of the overgrown wooded lots next door. However, If you wanted to have row style townhomes next door then you should have banded together to buy and develop the area. I think you have a good neighbor in the proposed proje...

Re: Christian Specht Building Rumor!!!
Even if they are able to save the exterior of the M’s pub building (and I doubt that they will). Current city code will likely not allow the kitchen and prep area to be in the basement again meaning that they will likely need to expand to the east. The facade of the Specht building would fit nicely ...

If the zoo is going to invest in displays of animals they don't actually have I would like to suggest the following... Let's have a "fun raiser" for the Cryptozoology expansion. We can add all of the mega fauna darlings like Bigfoot, the Loch Ness Monsterer, and the Yetti. Businesses can d...

Nice piece on the former owner by the OWH. Old news but helps explain the large private site in the middle of the city.

Then the landlord shouldn't accept Section 8 vouchers. How will the slumlords make all their money than??? When someone provides housing in a rental property they should not be labeled slumlords. It is truly sad when these events occur, the lack of comments when they do happen speaks volumes. Not only have we gotten used to the violence now it has become taboo to comment on it as well. I don't know how these shootings can be stopped and it certainly is not the fault of the apartment communit...
