Re: METRO (Formerly Metro Area Transit - MAT)
I live at 120th and Pacific. I moved in in 1993 and there was a bus route on Pacific connecting 144th to points east and you could ride with a transfer from my area to the West roads and then points east. It was killed in the late 1990's. My knowledge of the system dates back to 1995. At that point...

Re: METRO (Formerly Metro Area Transit - MAT)
All I know is that routes along 120th, 132nd, 144th and Pacific Streets are LONG overdue. They should've been added 30-40 years ago. I live at 120th and Pacific. I moved in in 1993 and there was a bus route on Pacific connecting 144th to points east and you could ride with a transfer from my area t...

Re: Papillion Assault Case... how does this work?
Sounds about right. Class one felony trials are huge money. Start at $250k and most are atleast double that. The DAs figure a plea is an admission of guilt that is not appealable and he gets 10-15. He will probably serve most of it and realistically would only serve 20 for a murder. So he gets half ...

Yes, those additional 180 residents will really put a strain on resources..... Pay your taxes, Vinny, and maybe resources won't be a problem. To be fair, cops are not exactly abundant in west O. While it's not a huge area, the power plant and the hospital both add substantial high risk targets. So ...

Re: Fiserv
We have two. Fischer has been reelected once and Sasse who was reelected once. Hardly "keeps getting reelected". The issue of tech hub status depends on perspective. A steady opinion from the eco-left is that these data centers are not great as they suck up a lot of resources and space for...

Stothert must get a lot of Mutual money. Their MTC investments have lost money due to a lot of factors. Moving the visitor's bureau to there seams like the same thing Sarpy Co did when they moved their visitors center to Neb Crossing back when it was largely empty before remodeling. A great way to g...

If we are going to have a city wide plan, let's make sure all the city has to play according to the same rules and expectations. Even if Fairacres gets renovated into multifamily homes. Fair. Hopefully, this will be more equitable than the scattered site housing program where the leftists in Dundee got to preach a good game, but the only part of town that met it's allotment of scattered site houses was old Millard. Here's another what if: Rosenblatt Stadium isn't demolished. Instead, it's still there and the College World Series is still played there every year? Donna Meyer was first. Sho got poached from.channel 3 by channel 7. Carol Scott replaced her and was famous for her 3 dimensions (keeping it family friendly). We used to joke that she could stand in front of Wyoming and block out Des Moines.

This is weird right. Not really. It's way more common for widowers to both remarry and remarry soon, but it's not really that out of the ordinary for widows these days. Especially if the new man is close to start with. Also, they remarried in a private ceremony. That cuts a lot of lag time. Conside...

63rd street would boost the value of those apartments by a ton. Get from your home to the old market without an effort beyond getting on and off the street car. So back in the day, you could get a job at your local pool and thus net more cash. Now, you might be able to walk to a pool, but you are a noob and have to drive across town. Definitely need to keep our local places going. But they need to meet part way. Take reservations! Have a balanced menu such that people eating pasta don't have a dump truck full and people eating other food have normal portions. Definitely annoying trying to go out as a couple.

Sports bars in this town suck. None of them keep.the noise down. There are a lot of cool local joints with better food and noise levels and they also have them new fangled thingamabobs called TV sets.
