Feels like a lot of code for "against the streetcar".
C'mon Omaha we can do better. If this is where this is heading, anyone not 110% on with transit and the streetcar won't have my vote.

Wow, another mid-rise residential conversion. That would be great, but as for the chances of a high or mid-rise new residential tower getting built that sucks. Yeah, this is worries me as well. However, if all these announced and rumored conversions are apartments, maybe that still leaves room for ...

Re: Omaha Streetcar Discussion
This extension is basically building a historic streetcar line in the way it functions. There is a reason why we don't build them anymore. Buses are cheaper and out perform these old streetcars. I can go on and on about why this line is so poorly thought out. What are the metrics for the next study...

I talked to the mayor over the weekend and she said there is a new proposal for this site from an Atlanta-based developer. Twin residential towers, both 25 stories, and a new to market 18 floor hotel. 1200+ car parking garage. Lower level retail with full size grocery store and one two story nation...

If that were true, the City of Omaha would not be an aggressive annexing entity. I think that's an entirely different thing. If Omaha Doesn't annex what it can, it could lose the option to do so later. Probably the absolute best example is St Louis. Where St Louis City is like 250,000 people, is th...

I’m not sure why the City of Omaha should be concerned with assisting with development in another state? If the intent of a streetcar line is to spur building in downtown Omaha, opening up potential lots somewhere else to have construction shifted seems foolish. Especially if this is to paid for “o...

My only real gripe is everything seems to be happening in spite of her, not because of her. And I think we could do much better. How would we add LRT into Omaha? Is there way to add it into the existing space, or would we basically have to bulldoze a swath across the city? There are people here better able to answer than me, but from what I can see we have a few ways to do it without bulldozing buildings. Depends on budget, ...

To 99 percent of the city, that’s the major point. No one wants to see taxes raised higher. The vast majority of this city will not be riding the streetcar, and she had to address that. 99% of the city won't drive on 168th and Fort. So we shouldn't build infrastructure out there?
