It's been a few years since I checked out Boys Town, but my recollection is that there are high schools with nicer fields than Boys Town. That could also be an option.

Weather may also affect attendance as well. This morning's games were extremely light in attendance, but considering they were supposed to be played yesterday, completely understandable.

Stooped in the new Fairway Meat Market last night about 6pm and the place was packed! Beautiful store too! As well it should be. Fairway is famous for their meat department, and hopefully this is a huge (yuuuuge?) success, because I'd love to see them open up more around town. I'd rather not have t...

Joe's KC has stated several times in the past that they aren't interested in further expansion. But I tweaked Jack Stack on Facebook a few years ago about expansion into Omaha and got a response that wasn't exactly a denial. Not sure the Mimi's spot is the right size for Jack Stack; I suspect they'd...

I can't remember any Omaha school district cancelling school 18 hours before class began, and at least ten hours before a single flake fell. I can't help but think that Stothert's inability to clear the streets this year affected each superintendent's decision.

Tried Q39 in November, and it's good...just not up to the Joes/Jack Stack level. One thing I found curious was that they season their brisket after it's sliced. That shouldn't be necessary at all, but they do it. It's an upscale joint just west of Westport. Joes continues to be consistently good, bu...

Apparently, the folks in North Dakota don't believe that it gets too cold to pretreat roads: NDDOT is applying liquid ice melting material. I get the frustration, but really this snow fell at the absolute worst time to get them clear. If this started at midnight instead of 6 AM the streets would have been a lot better b/c the crews could have been out on empty streets clearing. Trying to clear snow in rush hour has to be a pain. This year, the city is 0 for 2 on snow removal. The first one (Christmas Eve) kind of caught everyone off guard; nobody was predicting that amount of snow and it came fast. This one, the forecasters had the storm pretty much nailed last night. An inch or snow of snow before rush hour, and more durin...

Thing is, if you are a 5 day a week, 8-to-5 worker, you pretty much need your spot and have a pretty good idea where it is.
