Re: Even Hotel (Omaha Hotel - 24th and Farnam)
I've believed for years that this stretch was ripe for redevelopment, and it looks like it's about to really take off. Aside from a few nice buildings, there are quite a few that would be wisely sacrificed for good-quality 2-4 story mixed-used structures. If the new developments follow a strong new-...

Wonder why those are the only 2 renderings released. Can we at least get one showing the main portion of the building instead of a side-shot. It is hard to tell if the top south eastern edge rises up taller than the rest of the building. Since these are early renderings in the pre-construction phas...

The Specht is cool on the front only, other than that it is just a brick box. I can’t imagine why someone would actually try and move it. Hate me if you want but just my opinion. I agree. I've never been inside, so I don't know what, if any, historic millwork is left on the inside, but unless it's ...

This would be a great improvement for the area. That block of Center is pretty depressing.
It gets quite a bit of traffic, so I could see the right business doing well.

I went to the Dog races Friday night and the club house was packed. I went to the buffet before going upstairs to the Dog races and it was pretty awful. Yes, it is going on the parking lot on the right side of the photo that nebraska shared a couple posts up. I remember when they built that lot and had the landscaping done just two years ago. Re: M's Pub Explosion and Fire
I think the key question now on the M's building is whether the remaining brick load-bearing walls can still carry the floor and roof loads, or if they will have to add new steel structure to shore-up the brick facades. If they have to add that much new steel, it might be more cost effective to sta...

If it's demo'd, odds are the replacement would be multi-story mixed-use, and if it fits the urban style of other recent developments in the area and by that owner, would be a good fit. This is a case where I wouldn't be so sad to see an old building go to make room for something with better function...

Not sure which of the addresses listed is the Colonial hotel - I hear that was purchased recently and is also being renovated. That would make sense. With the demand for this area, I imagine the investment potential of this for this has easily tipped past the income it's making in it's current use.
