it's just too far, in my opinion, for many people to attend regularly. Â Right now, I'm much more prone to going to games nearer to the center of Omaha (like we have with Rosenblatt, or the new downtown stadium). Â If you look at the metro as a whole, downtown is much closer to the center than South...

I also ate it so often that I haven't been back in a few months, in my opinion there are too many of them being built or planned. No way... The sando I eat is $4.23, they could replace every subway in town as far as I am concerned.... I agree. Â Same goes for quiznos and blimpie...even though blimp...

i can't wait for the stock market to level out and fears of oil get under control, that are making people not spend money. Â When a typically strong company like Starbucks (and the other day with a possible GM bankruptcy) start doing closings, you know the |expletive| is about to hit the fan (like i...

Daytona is sweet; I've always wanted to go to Talladega just a hair more, but I still love it when February rolls around and you get to hear the cars take turn 1 and the roar builds up in the back ground and then switches to the camera on the inside of turn 2. Â Then they flip to the turn 2/back str...

we started at like 7:40 and from that point on (after we had finished at like 9:30 or 10), people were still doing them all night (in fact, i hear them going now, and it is almost 1:30am). Â This morning, i got up, stepped outside to pick up a few things and heard them going off at 8:15. Â They've b...

i just realized saw there's a new organic place in downtown council bluffs; I'm not sure when it opened, but i saw it and would like to check it out. little off topic, but i thought I'd throw that in there. I assume you're talking the store on South Main Street? That relocated from the 100 block o...

this is a link to their site, specifically the projects they have worked on...which are VERY numerous. Â They've done projects all over the world. I'm not sure if it's related to this or not, but the large map-pins you see around town now are a cool touch, in my opinion (they have one at the zoo and i saw one somewhere else, just not sure which location). Â If you're having issues picturing it, or haven't seen them, they are a large version of...

Also, there's a lot to be said for being able to shop without being asked 5 times if i'm finding everything ok. Actually that is considered good customer service. I work part time in a retail store and we hear back from some people who say no one helped them out -- no one asked if they needed help...

i agree; it's frustrating going to wal-mart and being inundated by hundreds of people being in your way, waiting in check outs, etc, but i still shop there, because i too want to see my dollar go a little further (and it does). i agree with wags...sorry capitalguy :) Â And like it's been said a million times, if they can support the stadium on the CWS alone, why not give the Royals a good deal and make it just extra gravy on the biscuits? Â It would help boost all the bars/restaurants/hotels (though not as much as as the o...

That's a cool concept, even if some of the buildings seem a little odd (like the one designed for Milan that looks like a bunch of pieces of gum stacked on top of each other; I've never been a big fan of that type of modern architecture). OK, so after seeing the total attendance numbers (highest yet), i stand somewhat corrected. However, average attendance is down (lowest in almost 10 years), due in large part to schedule changes...but for sure at least in some part due to gas prices.
