Re: Oak View Mall - Redevelopment Plan
Of note the Sears parcel and the parcel with the Guitar Center are both for sale as well. That’s a lot of property to take down, but probably never been a better chance to lock down that much land here at one time if someone wanted to.

I’m sure they want to open sooner than it would be available, but a tenant like this would be great at the new crossroads.nativeomahan wrote: ↑Tue Oct 10, 2023 11:05 am I saw on social media that the people behind Williamsburg Pizza are actively looking for a second location, and are focusing in the area near 72nd and Dodge Streets.

Re: Ugly grain elevators around I-80- I-480-Kennedy Freeway
Won't be at this scale b/c the traffic on the Beltline in ATL is dramatically higher than any trail in Omaha, but there are some really cool projects around that trail where the retail opens up to the bike path instead of the street or parking lot. Again we aren't going to fill a ton of suites here ...

Apparently, the developer sold this already. I didn't think they were a merchant builder, but this has obviously been a long ordeal, maybe that influenced the decision. I must not have looked at those planning docs that closely. 250 is a lot of units. 13th is obviously going to have more commercial action, but there are going to be a lot more people on 10th to help with some of the retail in that area too.

Interesting there are liquor license requests before the city council next week for UNO. Money is allocated for a number of bridges in the CIP including I think all of them over 480. As for sidewalks they generally get done with development. Not always as evidenced be the very nice streetscape this did on the south end of the Old Market. Probably likely to continue to be more ad hoc, bu...

I am not the biggest fan of Lolla's lineup this year, but it's certainly not comparable to Maha or Outlandia... The above schedule is just one of the 4 days and The 1975 and Kendrick are huge acts. Trader Joe's is unlikely at the Civic Site. They apparently require a pretty high median income for the surrounding neighborhood, about $100,000 if I understand correctly. I don't believe downtown is there yet. The Traders Joes in Omaha is always pretty crowded. Seldom do I go there and it's empty....
