Re: Lincoln Airport (LNK)
Nvm, LNK has a respectable list of destination options doing well, plus not having the airport as is would, reduce business and growth of the city. We don't want that, we want Omaha and Lincoln to be strong cities. LNK is surviving mainly by leasing land to warehousing and manufacturing. Passenger ...

Re: Lincoln Airport (LNK)
At this point I agree with Nuke. I don't think there's much LNK can do. So, there they are tilting at windmills. What I simply fail to understand is the expansion of the LNK terminal. Blowing $40-50 million and using property taxing authority to do it. In their own words: "Long overdue updates ...

Re: Lincoln Airport (LNK)
Ok. I was wrong to think that they could do the prudent thing and plan ahead. Throwing a dart or spinning a wheel didn't work for what I thought was great out of the box thinking. The original destinations were a bit weird. Dallas, Minneapolis & Atlanta aren't top of mind as far as leisure desti...

I was posting as you responded. Lincoln's June numbers are out. Red Way had 3,993 total passengers for the month on 66 flights (60.5 per flight) for a load factor of 40.33%. https://lincolnairport.com/business-information/financial-statistical-info/ The numbers you came up with are an average. Re: Lincoln Airport (LNK)
I'm still wondering if that abrupt shift wasn't the airline, but the airport. I guess it doesn't really matter who did it in the end though... My reading of it is that the airport "created" the airline. No it doesn't matter. In the end someone had to be the adult and say "Ok. That's ...

Detroit added Turkish Airlines recently so anybody wanna hop on & see what's fun in Turkey? I cannot tell if you are being sarcastic or not, but Turkish is a great airline and is used by many people for transit instead of flying a legacy carrier. Not being sarcastic. Turkish is coming to DTW.

In reading comments in stories in the Lincoln paper a number of current and potential customers are leary of buying and then being abandoned with little to no notice. Re: Lincoln Airport (LNK)
The Lincoln airport finally released the statistics for June. Red Way started ops June 8 I believe and in June it flew just short of 4,000 people. I think some destinations didn't start til late in the month. Nuke almost has me convinced that Red Way's days are numbered. I'm disheartened by the brag...

It seems other airports shout from the rooftops as well as their web sites about new terminals/additions/modernizations. OMA seems to at best whisper. In a lot of cases Marty Shukert from RDG would make these amazing renderings and the final outcome, if any, would not only look nothing like the renderings but in some cases be outdone by a trailer park. I kind of feel bad for Marty. He's very talented. “Millard Town Center” "Millarde Towne Cen...

Re: Omaha Eppley Airfield
Better brush up on how airports are funded. No taxpayer funds are used. KC has and omaha likely will pay for the new terminals through revenue bonds. The bonds are paid back with airport revenues regardless of management type. And in what world is KCI “over the top?” Are you familiar with Changi? Y...

Re: Omaha Eppley Airfield
Although these ideas are nice to have for Eppley upgrades, the cost would skyrocket. The city does not manage the airport but the authority does. Do we really want to follow the path of KC, of the city managing the airport, in which tax payers are stuck paying for an over the top airport? Isn't it ...

Huh, I wonder why it dropped in 2019. It didn't drop by much (less than 0.5%), but the previous three years Eppley had ridiculous growth that was bound to level off at some point. What brought on the growth the previous three years? Presumably demand with ample supply. Or perhaps supply caught up w...

P.S. I think Universal Studios and Disney parks are overrated. Universal studios, Long lines for up to 1 hr, few quality rides that can be ridden without getting bored, random rides broken and out of service, the asthetics of the park look cheap in certain places, more emphasis in merchandise. Worlds of Fun, Adventureland, all the others not Disney or Universal. I'm at a loss as to the desired audience. On the other hand why not? Somebody has a hard on for semi rural Oklahoma, go for it. Finally, you think Redway is in the middle of nowhere? This proposal says "Hold my beer"

Ok, well, this is what they went with. It appears clear that they either didn't try or tried and failed to get DL or anyone else to establish some sort of service. So they got creative. I'm not sure this has been discussed before. Here's a radical idea. Do away with I-480 from the junction with 75. Have the bridge end & traffic from the bridge just exit to Dodge. Get rid of the over head traffic entirely. That would open up blocks and blocks of land for development, combine dow...
