Not sure if they are taking the entire space or not, but BVH(the architects of this project) are moving their offices into this building. It will be interesting to see how their new space turns out in Corvina. Their current space (since 2004) is in the Joseph's Small Engine building at 15th & J...

Re: The Next Blackstone? - North Saddlecreek Rd?
I don't think it will take a major change in transportation to spur another development like this, who would have thought five years ago Blackstone would be what it is now? There are several places around town with good building stock that could do it. I agree. Blackstone development has been more...

Re: The Next Blackstone? - North Saddlecreek Rd?
It's true that the North Saddle Creek stretch lacks a denser "main-street" or "downtown" like core of buildings. But the density could be increased with new buildings as infill, following a "main street" type model for development. First, you would need property owners ...

I'd like to see the North Saddle Creek area redeveloped/infilled too. I used to drive that street every day to & from work. It gets a lot of traffic from people heading toward Blondo to go east-west or to the Country Club Neighborhood. Back in the 70's & 80's, there was a bar called The One-...

That is an odd placement of that column at the main entry. It just doesn't look right having the top of the column penetrate the angled surface, which must be metal panel or glass. If they must have it, the column should come up to the horizontal portion, in my opinion. That is a long name for a rea...

I read in the paper that the Aksarben Ball is going to be held at the arena once it is completed. It may be one of the first events to be held in the new arena. Entirely possible, but that would mean a change of format for the ball, if it is to happen. They don't use the arena, when they do it at...

It depends on how far back you go. Prior to the 1980's it usually started the first week of September and lasted into the first week of June. Recently, at least in the Omaha area, it's been creeping into mid-August. That seems earlier to me. Anyway, arguing for an early September start date is not a...

I'm certainly glad they didn't put the arena and convention center there. That area ( market west ) has developed pretty well on its own the last 10-15 years without any heavy-handed intervention. The price could really drop if we continue to reduce our consumption. Unfortunately, people will probably start to care less about efficiency again, which will in turn increase demand, causing prices to start rising again. In the mean time, domestic oil production will see a lower profit margin due...

The Midtown Crossing parking garage is only about 5 blocks away. Too bad Mutual couldn't allow after-hours parking in some of their huge lots in the area. Re: National Indemnity Building (3024 Harney)
If I had any say, I'd vote to save it! It's a good example of mid-20th century modern architecture. I know this aesthetic doesn't have a real strong following, but some of the same design ideas are once again appearing in new building designs. Take the 158th & West Dodge project as an example......

Might not be a good idea to have a filling station with all of its tanks right under I-480. I don't remember how much of that site is actually under the bridges.
I agree it would be better to keep it on Cuming rather that in such a prime location between Clink and DT.

I haven't been to the PBA yet either. It does seat fewer than the CLINK and therefore is smaller. Plus it was also designed more around basketball. Such arenas typically are more intimate and have seating closer to the action with steeper viewing angles.
