Re: Nebraska Football 2022
They need to build up infrastructure. It's going to be like the 50's and early 60's. The fans will go for the fun of it, the coaches will need to recruit farm and ranch kids who may not play football at the elite high school level, so training people and supporting small town coaches will be key. Al...

Nope. The lake will be a shallow noisy sand pit. It will be a flood risk and paying that sweet extra flood insurance in addition to all the other plans is going to make it much less successful than TanTara or Lake of the Ozarks lodge. Even those two with much bigger markets to draw from have a lot o...

Re: Omaha's Brain Drain
Taxes in Nebraska are a real problem in general. Property taxes get the ink, but the income tax is a big nest of problems as well. The fundamental issue is the cost of operation of our state. We simply pay a lot of money for things and stuff. This prevents serious tax reform because our budget busti...

A Whataburger with access to a stable supply of green Chile would make it possible to create a green Chile cheeseburger with Nebraska beef. A nexus in taste would open and a new era of haute cuisine would burst upon the huddle masses yearning for the perfect burger. It should happen, but it won't. B...

They should give him the rest of the season to prove himself and either stay or get enough on his resume that he can land well.
NU is not getting a big name coach. No one is going to sign on to that dumpster fire. Better to keep him and limp forward.

Keep their heads in the games so there are fewer mental mistakes. (Players and coaches here). Goal for the rest of the season: no blow out losses and at least 1 win over a low ranked opponent. Aspiration for this season would be close fought games all the rest of the way and wins over all the teams ...

Poor advertising. It was right next to both DJs Dugout and the China Buffet and got a lot of walk in traffic from both. We would go there, but one day, we went and it was closed down. Omaha radio didn't invent top 40. We are guilty of worse. The "Elite 8" format. This was invented by Storz Broadcasting when it was discovered that even cutting the playlist to the top 40 was too expensive in terms of records and management of the records for the DJs. The Elite 8 format al...

How many of these old buildings were pigs in lace? Asbestos and lead waste dumps? Having worked at UNMC in a building built around WW1, the cost to modernize even just a doorway was staggering. To build a door between a conference room and the floor was $250,000 and required mining engineers to stab...
